The area for swimming is accessed either by diving off the rocks or by a step ladder. Not too many waves as the bay at Porto Venere is quite sheltered. As with many swimming areas the edge has buoys and a rope to advise boats to keep out. Water polo nets (and international matches) can be used in this area. The sea is deep. The beaches are grey sand or small pebbles in this part of the Ligurian coast. Quite a few free betoo.aches

It’s a very nice place to visit. Wonderful views, restaurants, stores. It worth the trip and even stay over there. I liked a lot.

interesting place walk around the island if your fit enough beaches very nice have resto you can eat and rent sun bed good for nice weather

Piscina Naturale Portovenere E Palmaria is really a beautiful spot. There are colorful houses and well protected bay for swimming and other water activities. Furthermore, it is also refreshing to sail to the other islands for visit as well. Highly recommended.

A deep blue sea, a naturel canal like a piscine, to enjoy young and old for a nice swim and sportif activities, diving at the heart of underwater world, to explore with satisfaction.

If you can take a boat from the cinque terre to here then do it. Also try to visit the 3 small islands near Portovenere. It's very scenic and not quite as crowded as the cinque terre .
