Great place to see in a gorgeous little village.Situated in one of the nicest places in Italy. Avoid the crowds of Cinque Terre and visit here instead. One of my most favorite places in our trip to Italy

Porto Venete is worth a visit. Its nice in itself and lacks the bustling crowds of the Cinque Terra. If you do visit, pay €5 pp to visit this castle which is interesting in itself and also affords commanding views over the town and port...More

If you have time, climb to the top of Castle Doria, Visit the Church on the way up, and pay the small admission fee to come inside. Views from these heights are amazing! Pictures get better and better in Porto Venere the higher you climb.

The views were great, but on this day the neighbors were burning brush from their olive trees and we nearly choked. There was too much smoke to relax and take in the history. Not a lot here and I thought not enough for the 5€...More
