If you have time, climb to the top of Castle Doria, Visit the Church on the way up, and pay the small admission fee to come inside. Views from these heights are amazing! Pictures get better and better in Porto Venere the higher you climb.
Not really much to the castle itself but the views are lovely from there.
€5 per person to get in. There was some work going on in the one and only room in the castle when we visited at the end of May.
Castello Doria has a €5 (free for kids) entry fee so many people seem to walk up there, and turn around. It’s well worth going in and exploring.

The views were great, but on this day the neighbors were burning brush from their olive trees and we nearly choked. There was too much smoke to relax and take in the history.
