Supposedly designed by Napoleon, it’s cute and quite well set up as a natural acoustic theater. It would have been fun to see a show there.

This theater is around the area where other Napoleon sites are on Elba Island and we made the effort to get there. Too bad it was closed the previous afternoon when we arrived on the island....they are a great resource for finding all the other places but their schedule is complicated. We were free to roam around the building that Napoleon had remodeled into a small theater. Depending on the time of the day, the area is in a ZTL so you have to park near the front of the harbor which is not a long walk along the shops. We followed the signs to the theater up some steep steps. But if the ZTL is open for traffic, there is a closer lot up around the harbor through an arch, which is on the left facing the water. It is worth a visit as much as any of the other Napoleon sites.

Disregarding the play that took place, the theater is very nice, the seats are comfortable and the acoustics work very well. It has a balcony enabling you a better visual. The only problem is that the back seats are level with the front seats, blocking a full vision.

A beautiful little Theatre in Portoferrario. Admission was in with the Fort Falcone price.
Well worth the money.
It's even worth spending a few days in Portoferrario. It had such an impression on me.

We visited this theater with a small tour group. Our guide at the theater was extraordinary, both in her depth of knowledge and her enthusiasm for the Theater. This theater was built by Napoleon during his 10 months of self-imposed exile on Elbe. It is both beautiful and impressive to have been done in such a short time. Well worth the visit.

This is a lovely, little and unusual place to visit. There were no other visitors in the half hour we spent there. The information sheet is comprehensive and well worth reading as the history of the place is interesting.

Lovely little theatre. Worth a look. Visited on a multi-ticket. Joined with Forte Falcone and one other place which we didn't visit.
