Me and my family just finished a week class with Ponte - Tonale Ski School. Me and my husband with instructors Andrea (first day) and Luigi (rest of the week) and my kids with instructors Fabio and Marco. Because of a physical problem I had years ago, I was afraid of skiing, of falling down. I can only tell you the instructors were great: always trying to put me at my ease, making me overcome my fears, always correcting the errors I was making, trying to make me achieve more but also knowing when I was tired and needed to do a step back. I started the class on Sunday, not hoping for much. On Wednesday I was doing the Valena and Victoria slopes on my own. On Thursday we tried together the Cadit Sit and Serondine on Friday. I ended the class on Friday doing the easy red slopes on my on, fearless, super excited and happy for this achievement. My husband is at his second year of ski school. In the first year he did it with a different local school which he didn't like too much as he considered he didn't receive too much attention and didn't teach him too much. He felt he achieved and learnt much more this year at Ponte-Tonale, he felt Luigi gave him good advices and the attention he needed to correct errors he was making. Andrea is super friendly, giving you lots of confidence and paying lots, lots of attention to what you were doing! Luigi is super professional, like a school teacher who demands commitment and attention. He wants you to strive for more, but if he feels you're unprepared for a step, he'll be the first to stop you. Kids were super excited and I was super happy especially for the little one who, at the beginning of the week, was not too happy to listen for directions and to attend yet another class (kindergarten was enough :) ). He cried at the beginning of the first 2 lessons but Marco was great and Umbi actually enjoyed the class in the end. In the last days he actually asked us to stay longer on the slopes so he can show us what he learnt and what he can do. Fabio as well, super friendly and kind, was great with my daughter, correcting errors Irene was doing. If we'll ever go back to Tonale, which I am sure we will, we'll get back for sure to this school, for kids and for us.

We found the ski school easy to contact and arranged our lessons before travelling. Our instructor Stefania B agreed to meet us for our private lessons on a lift closer to our hotel and was professional, friendly and shared her passion for skiing and the mountains. The standard of ski instruction in Italy is very high. My daughter and I are advanced intermediates and both made good progress throughout the week. Excellent teacher! We skied the last week in March and the last few days the snow was heavy lower down but we still had good skiing higher up in Ponte di Legno and off the glacier.
