While the station itself was functioning well, with computerized screens announcing the trains and their delays, we were not very impressed by the bar/coffee shop attached to it, especially the toilets for which you have to ask for a key. These toilets should be cleaned regularly since they leave a very bad impression on any tourist visiting the beautiful city... More

The stations is nice enough. Seems to have a good presence of Trenitalia agents who are always a plus. BUT, watch out for the automated bathrooms. They can be a real experience. My wife used the one that was in operation and wished she hadn't. Cost .50€ but the door kept openning and closing. Suddenly the toilet disappeared into the... More

Station itself is unremarkable, typical Italian station with typical amenities. But consider using it as your rent a car home-base instead of downtown Rome - to avoid some frantic traffic - if you are planning on touring the Umbrian and/or southern Tuscan countryside for their views and culinary delights. Rail connections to Rome are super convenient.

The train station is easy to get to, has adequate parking and convenient to the funicular to go up to Orvieto. Two items of advice. The toilettes are down by the parking lot, not in the train station. If you don't know that, it can be a long train ride. Secondly, the funicular stops at 8PM. If you go up... More

We found this train station easy to get to, with lots of free parking. We left our car there for a couple of days without any problems. This was great because the traffic in Rome was insane, cars, buses and mopeds going in every direction all the time. Just crossing the street is scary! We took the high speed, non-stop... More

The Orvieto Rail station is a clean and convenient stop between Rome and Florence. The medieval hilltop town of Orvieto is very close and a wonderful day trip. Lake Bolsena and the old town of Bolsena is only 20 minutes away. I suggest that use public transportation and avoid renting a car. I recently rented a car from from Hertz... More

Remember to park at the back if you are leaving your car there for the day. Take signs to fonicolare. The trains are normally 5 or 10 minutes late, but they can be horribly late. There is a small meet and greet parking in the front, and a v small cafe. The people who sell tickets speak a bit of... More

Why is Orvieto train station the 19th best thing to do in Orvieto? Why have people reviewed it? Why I am reviewing it? Why is it higher than the Crocifisso del Tufo (The Etruscan tombs)? Don't get me wrong- there's nothing wrong with it, but folks....it's a train station!

Orvieto is just an hour north of Rome, by train. It is the first stop. Then you go outside to the Funicular, ride that up the steep tracks. Then you get a little bus, which takes you to the Beautiful Duomo. From here, you can walk all over.Just make sure the little bus is the bus to the Duomo.! we got on another by... More
