The afternoon starts with a tour of the winery. We also walked though the vineyard to go into the ancient caves where the wine is stored. Interesting and gorgeous scenery. Then we moved into the lovely kitchen and dining room. In my opinion, this is a great cooking class because Rosanna shows us how to make fresh pasta, pizza dough,... More

The tour started with Anna Rita telling us about the history of the Barbi Family and the vineyard. She was highly knowledgable and interesting. We traveled to the production facility and eventually to the caves where the sparkling wine and barrels were stored. I highly recommend wearing shoes appropriate for a hike on a steep gravel path. After the tour... More

I stumbled on this while planning our trip to Italy. It sounded like fun, and it was a change from art and churches. It's a longish twisting, turning drive from Orvieto to Decugnano dei Barbi, but then again how many Italian roads aren't twisting and turning? It was a great afternoon. Anna Rita showed us around the winery, and then... More

We had a truly great experience at Decugnano dei Barbi. There were 7 of us-- parents in their early 60's, my husband and I in our 30's, and my younger siblings in their 20's. As we arrived, the first thing that struck us was the incredible setting: sweeping views of the countryside full of vineyards and Orvieto atop the hill... More

My daughter booked this tour as a surprise and I must say I was really pleased to spend an afternoon at this family winery with a true wine expert, Anna Rita. She lead us through a tour of the production facility and storage caves before taking us to meet Rosanna, the local cook who works with the owners of the... More

A multi-generational group of eight of us had a private tour of the winery followed by a highly enjoyable (and delicious) cooking class and dinner. Anna Rita, the guide, was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the winery and wine-making process. The tour was comprehensive and covered everything from the growing of grapes to the bottling and distribution of the... More

We spent a few days in beautiful Orvieto. We were picked up at our hotel and taken to the beautiful Decugnano dei Barbi Winery. Anna was there to greet us and we toured the winery. We got a wonderful history lesson and now have a much greater knowledge as to how the wines are made. Then we went up to... More

I was on vacation with my sister to Italy this summer, and we found this recommended cooking and wine tasting class on TripAdvisor. It was slightly more than we would typically spend on activities, but oh was it worth it! It was one of the best memories of my life. Italian wine, home-cooked Italian food, an incomparable Italian vista -... More

We all have those perfect, peaceful places in images in our minds that soothe us when sleep doesn't come to us at night, or when the world causes us to feel troubled. For me, just thinking about sitting at that splendid table, in that wonderful room, with summertime all around us and delicious food that we prepared with wines from... More

There is no better guide than Anna Rita who is the incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about wine. She took us on a tour of Decugnano which is such a stunning and unique vineyard.
