The overall scenery is amazing! But keep in mind that the cable car shut down from October 10th and you can only go to the top on foot or by bike. It usually takes 3 hours to go up to the top. I suggest park your car near Apartment Puntedla. It will save lots of time compared to trekking from the start point of the cable car.

Arriving:
You drive into the town of Ortisei/St. Ulrich, to the Seceda aerial cable car station. Better use navigation since its a bit of a confusing drive to the station.
I arrived at around 11am and the indoor car park was already full and I was led to the very narrow side car park (where I had to drive carefully in reverse to exite after). It cost 10€ a day.

cable car:
The cable car is of course way cheaper when you're there in winter with a 7 day ski pass. A single ride ticket is pretty expensive. Also note, its 2 cable cars to Seceda. I asked if its possible to go all the way up to Seceda and hike down to the first cable car and ride only that one down. Sadly only whole tickets up/town are possible. I paid expensive 105€ for 3 people for up and half way down.

Seceda:
Arriving on the mountain (over 2000m), it was a bit busy, there were many tourists running around the fields. There were also about 3 drones flying around. Of course the view is astounding. At the cruzifix on the mountain top you can walk over a small ridge to a natural platform where you have almost a 360° view. Its impressive, I'd say its next to cadini di misurina, großer cir, lago di braies and drei zinnen, the most scenic spot. If you want a drink or some food, go to the Sofia hut, they also have long chairs with an astounding view.
The walk down to the middle cable car station is about 1:30h down.

We went to the lifts at Ortisei early in the morning (09:00). We were the first to arrive at Seceda in a day with cold and clouds.
Such a wonderful view! Very nice 360 degrees views of all the peaks around. The lifts were 35euros round trip for each person.
Very safe, very organized, very clean!

A beautiful experience overall!

Over the last 10 years I have been on this telepherique many times whilst skiing from the Albergo Ronce. It is an exciting lift of of 730 m over a distance of 2 km. The views are excellent and as you come up to the face of the Dolomite mountain you get an excellent view of the geology of this mountain. For an explanation see the description in the Ladin Museum in Ortisei. In winter there is excellent skiing down to the underground cable car system which leads down to a big people interchange "square" and more lifts and more skiing. Or take the bus to Monte Pane and thence to Alpi de Suisi and still more skiing.
Access to the Seceda lift is across the bottom of the Saint Antonio Square, thence along a dead end street to an escalator, then moving people belts, around a corner, and onto a chairlift taking you up to the base station of the Seceda lift.

Amazing views at 2500m..The cable car ride was super fun and really gave us a good view of the Dolomites. It cost us €34 but the view up top was surely worth more..

Seceda is one of the highlights of my Dolomites trip. There is the lift from near the centre of Ortisei which takes you up to the top if the mountain. To get to the top you need to catch 2 lifts - the first a small gondola and the second a much larger standing up lift. The view from both is great especially from the upper one. The view from the top to Sella and Sassalungo is wonderful on a clear day. It's definitely a must visit while in Val Gardenia.

My wife and I purchased early morning round trip lift tickets (35 Euros each) from Ortisei to Seceda. We took two lifts to get to the top and the views were definitely worth the price for getting there. Be aware the elevation up there is over 2400m and what may seem like a short distance to hike can be potentially exhausting. We were fortunate to have sunny weather and this is definitely a place we would visit again.
