Beautiful and elegant Neo-Classical cathedral right in the middle of the city. Though there has been a church in this location for over 16 centuries, most of the building dates to the 19th century. Columns on the square, columns all around the parvis, columns supporting the church porch and imposing ochre-coloured columns inside. The interior is exactly what you would expect from an Italian cathedral, with paintings, frescos, chandeliers, saints and madonnas everywhere. The baptistery, the bell tower and the peaceful cloister and the back are part of the older original structures. Absolutely worth a visit!
