This funicular passes through the gardens of the villas and houses, due to the fact that this was the only possibility to do this funicular to connect the two villages. We have used this funicular during the night and the ride was fantastic. In addition to this they operate till late and thus one can go to this village and... More

This old historical funicular is well maintained with great views at the top. Definitely worth visiting and having a stroll around Montecatini Alto and also having a glass of wine in one of the restaurants.

Travelling in the funicular was a charming experience reminding me of an Agatha Christie Poirot short story. The old village is full of charm and the views are spectacular. Definitely worth the walk up the hill to the station.

You cannot leave Montecatini without taking a trip on the Funicolare - an enchanting train ride up the mountains to Montecatini Alto. Well worth the trip. You may even take it twice!

Red wagon, beautiful view of old city, romantic trip amid the trees. At half way you meet another train, you greet people on the other train and enjoy your visit to the old city. Works till late and runs every 30 mins

When recently travelling around Tuscany we were looking to stay somewhere between Florence and Pisa and decided on Montecatini Terme which was 50 mins from Florence and approximately 75 mins from Pisa by train. We arrived in Montecantini at about 2.00pm and asked the hotel receptionist for a recommendation of what we could do that afternoon. Without hesitation the receptionist... More

Please stop the copy and paste of the same answering text. It does not fit all comments and is very silly. The Funiculare ist the best. Historical ride and great Bella Vista.

It is well worth a ride on the funicular whilst in Montecatini- €4 for a single journey, or €7 return. Firstly because of the journey itself- good fun. Also because of the spectacular views at the top. There are also some great restaurants in Montecatini Alto.

Well worth a visit €7 return or €5.50 single and you can walk back down. Lovely little town with nice restaurants at the top. Vehicular itself is very old and quaint but lovely.... Stand outside if you want the views for photos. It runs ever half an hour, but will be more frequent if it is busy - as it... More
