Three Delicious wines all served with mouthwatering Italian breads. This was a ship's tour and the rice balls and focaccia were perfect pairing to the white and red wines. This is not your mother's marsala. The dessert wine was and beautiful with biscotti. Nice Gift shop with many choices of wine, food items and locally made hand crafts for the... More

Three delicious wines sampled with Parmesan, Gorgonzola and finally dunked in Biscotti. Heaven from a bottle.

ok, it is interesting to having a look at the big wooden casks of 20 hl and more. But why this silly 3d-movie before and the never endings historie of Florio, that is gone (!) since the later 20s of the last century? Nothing to see but this casks? Of course not: Florio is nothing but a label. If you... More

We took the interesting tour of the Florio Winery in Marsala whilst on holiday in Sicily and found it worthwhile. We travelled with the knowledgeable young lady guide through the great cellars to learn about the history of the fortified wine that has been made here for nearly two centuries. An Englishman John Woodhouse developed the wine and it was... More

The tour begins with a rather unusual 4D video experience which is great fun but doesn't really tell you anything. You then go with a guide through the cellars and learn all about the history of Marsala production, the Florio family and the company up to the present day. Finally you enter a wonderful tasting room where you taste 4... More

An English trader John Woodcock in 1973 discovered the local wine of Marsala. He decided to bring it home and fortified it to increase its alcohol content so as to assist its travel capability and thus created Marsala as we know it today. This is one of the many facts you learn from the excellent presenter on visiting the Florio... More

We have tried to book a tour in the morning but where told that it was all booked but we just stopped by after our trip to the beach and we got lucky and managed to get 2 spots. The guide was extremely friendly and even gave us 1 entry for free, which was much appreciate, thank you. It all... More

Great history with good tasting at the end. At least the cellars are cool. Bit of walking but on one level. Well worth taking the time to do

As the town has given it's name to this wine it seems important to understand its history and traditions. A comprehensive visit and guide in English was very good, followed by a structured food & wine tasting to increase understanding for novices of the differences in both Marsalas and the companies local table wines.

we were looking forward to the visit of Florio: tasting the wines and getting all the info. Unfortunately all tours that day were already fully booked. All we could do is walk around a bit and visit the shop. the area is really nise and well maintained. so make sure you book you place a few days in advance.
