Imagination, knowledge and deep roots. The Donnafugata wines are a passionate interpretation of Sicily and its sensorial universe. Donnafugata was created in Sicily by an enterprising family with 160 years’ experience in premium wines. The adventure began in the Rallo family’s historic cellars in Marsala in 1983 and at its Contessa Entellina vineyards in the heart of western Sicily. In 1989 Donnafugata arrived on the island of Pantelleria, starting to produce naturally sweet wines.

We had this vinery as a last planed stop on our vacation, and I must admit, it is really one of the highlights. Firstly you must admire a courage of a man who decides in completely changing a philosophy of a vinery, from something more or less secure (marsala production) to switching production to completely new breed of vines. And... More

I booked the Mediterranea tasting experience for my family on TripAdvisor with Viator as it worked out slightly cheaper than with the winery itself. It was easy to use and when we discovered that it had been booked on a Public Holiday Donnafugata quickly e mailed us and offered us a choice of alternative dates either side of the date... More

Nice tour through the winery with all the info on different grapes, soil and background on the Donna Fugata company. But the best is kept for last ! Tasting the product paired up with some local sicilian bites. We got 2 white wines, one red & one sweet wine(Ben rye), paired with some olives, cheese, salami and a sweet biscuit.... More

We thought we had a reservation prearranged by a tour service but arrived having missed the 11a. However, they accommodated us for the next English speaking tour at 1pm and were able to recommend a nice place for lunch in the meantime. The tour was informative and well paced. We did not have the food and wine pairing but were... More

Donnafugata has wonderful wines, a beautiful winery, and great tour. The story behind the winery is a good family one and they produce excellent wines. The tour was informative, the grounds lovely and samples of wines tasty!

The drive to is actually amazing (as you head towards Marsala away from Trapani), the architecture of Marsala is completely different from what you see elsewhere in Sicily- the place is easy to find - the guides are actually unbelievably good, know what their talking about and are very proud of the Donnafugata product. Naturally the bit in the end... More
