This is a very pleasant piazza in which to pass time. It is quite a large square bounded by the Cathedral and shops and restaurants. The real joy comes when you raise your eyes above to see the cupola and roofline around you. All very impressive.

The piazza is in the centre of the old city and is dominated by the Cathedral on the south side of the square. It seems to be the main meeting place of the locals as they sit at tables all around the square having their espressos. The day we were there was a Sunday and many people were going to church (women & children) while the men socialised and sipped their coffees or drinks waiting for the family to exit the church. There were a number of cafes fronting the square with side street cafes serving the drink that gets its name from the city.

We stayed here on 04-28-24. It is one of the most beautiful squares in Marsala especially for the Mother Church and the Palazzo Senatorio with its beautiful Clock Tower crowning the arched façade. You can linger like us for a coffee break sitting at a table while watching people go by or while reflecting on the enchantment of these monuments that adorn the square. A must see.
Hello from Roby and Lucy from Sant' Anastasia (Naples).

This is the central square in Marsala, and is at the crossroads of the streets from Porta Nuova and Porta Garibaldi. It has the cathedral on one side, the town hall on another, and bars and restaurants just about everywhere else. Unfortunately, we visited on a national holiday, and pretty much everything was shut.

Marsala and in particular its center are not worth a visit. Furthermore, there is a level of rudeness from people never seen elsewhere.
Marsala is to be avoided
