Utterly disappointed shamble!!
Nov 2021 • Family
What an absolute shambles, paying £34 before even getting through the door, when half the rides are removed and half of the remaing rides not in operation.
The farm aspect was a joke with a few pigs and sheep and ducks. The pigs clearly in distress and fighting, to sum it up animal cruelty at its finest.
Left within an hour utterly disappointed with 20 tokens (£20) in our pockets unable to spend and unable to exchange back to pounds.
Never experience such unhelpful and uncaring staff in a so called fun family day out!

ATTEND AT YOUR PERIL !!
Jul 2021
Anyone thinking of visiting this venue should take note of all the poor reviews rather than any good ones as they are very accurate in my experience.
Took our 5 year old granddaughter here in the summer holiday and although she was none the wiser and enjoyed the day we ended up spending £40 on tokens for rides, some of which cost the equivalent of £5 each, so the pot soon ran dry.
We felt sorry for some of the families with more than one child.
Tokens were being collected in buckets by the ride attendants, and judging by the amount in each bucket it was obvious that a fortune is being made but not spent on maintaining or improving the various activities.
Yes the crazy golf is free, but what a state its in!
Pitching clubs only as not a putter in sight, which is also potentially dangerous as balls are likely to be lofted into the air and hurt someone or worse.
Holes in the sides of the glass fibre courses allow balls to disappear inside and could surely have been repaired during recent lockdown periods when the farm was unoccupied using some of the undoubtable profits from previous years trading.
We then tried to get some lunch, only to find after queuing for 20 minutes that a lot of the food being advertised was not available, and again, the simple act of covering or obscuring the non available items would have med the ordering process much easier and quicker.
Having selected some alternative food we then waited another interminable time for it to arrive but as our granddaughter was becoming frustrated at the long wait we asked for a refund, as were many other people.
Most of the younger ride attendants were quite friendly and seemed reasonably happy despite the fact that no rotation was evident as seen at other parks, but many of the older attendants were surly or off handed or in one case being distracted from supervising the children by speaking incessantly on her personal mobile phone.
All in all it was a very disappointing day out and one which we will definitely NOT be repeating.

Terrible day out - not sure how this is a farm park
Nov 2021 • Family
Honestly the worst family day out we have had in such a long time.

Price to enter was pretty reasonable at £3 per person however once in there attractions cost tokens (£1 per token) I bought 15 tokens and literally couldn’t even spend them all on my toddler as there was such limited things for them to do. I ended up having to spend half my tokens on sweets as they were non refundable.

All the attractions were in desperate need of refurbishment and were just dated.

Quite a nice outdoor park but probably more suited to the older children.

Very few animals and all seemed to be a bit sad and was not in the nicest enclosures.

Do not waste your time and go here. I wish I had checked trip advisor before!

Even if it was free I wouldn’t go back!

Warrants 0 Stars!

It’s a shame you can’t give 0 star reviews on Trip Advisor - but for Hop Farm it really warrants it.

We booked for our children to attend the Halloween event on the 30th October. The tickets said timing wise were between 3:40 - 5:10. We thought it was odd but assumed due to numbers of people attending you had your own slot.

Upon arriving at Hop Farm, the rude receptionist told us that they would be shutting at 4:30 - and to make the most of the half hour we would have there.

The ticket booth wasn’t open, the animals no where to be seen (it’s hardly a farm - more animals in Pets at Home) and the staff looked really depressed. The younger members of staff were chatty - but only to other younger members of staff. It was a disaster!

All in all, it is only £3 entry so you don’t have high expectations but come on - it is time they gave up and shut down.

I don't normally write reviews but I booked tickets last minute then read the reviews...I almost cancelled my tickets. But I decided to go anyway and I'm glad I did, my 3 year old loved it! For £3 entrance not sure what people were expecting. We spent 4 hours there, there was loads to do for my toddler

Awful
Oct 2021 • Family
Absolutely awful, took our children for the Halloween spectacular. Spectacular was there was nothing there apart from a few pumpkins dotted around so the only thing you can do is buy tokens for the rides. Horrendous place do not go unless you just want to pay £20 for kids to go on a few rides.

Very run down…
Oct 2021 • Family
We visited the Hop Farm a few years ago for a Christmas event. Although Father Christmas and his Elves were excellent the rest wasn’t great, everything was dreary and run down.

We thought we would give it a go again with the hope that the farm area may have been spruced up a bit and there might be a bit more going on. Sadly we were disappointed again. The farm is very small and the pens very muddy and dirty. There were staff looking after the animals but to be honest the animals didn’t look in the best condition.

There were a few rides for the children which you pay to go on. The soft play area is free and the kids enjoyed it in there but there are not enough tables for adults to sit down. I’m the same building is the food counter. There is only one place you can buy food which offers burgers and chips etc for children. No sandwiches or anything suitable for toddlers. Staff were friendly and were working hard to get the through the very long queue for food and drink.

There is a large play area and bouncy pillows (you have to buy tokens to go on the pillows).
To be honest the whole place is very run down, the cheap fair ground rides are not very good and the food and drinks on offer are very poor.

I guess you get what you pay for at only £3 each to get in. We will not be returning.

Avoid
Oct 2021 • Family
How this claims to be a farm is a joke. Barely any animals there and the ones that were are in awful condition with unsafe enclosures (my son actually ended up inside one due to unsafe barriers and another was just left with the staff access door open!). Went today and it was so busy no social distancing, no soap in any of the soap dispensers, litter everywhere, toilets filthy. Its just full of rides that you have to pay extra for that aren’t worth anywhere near the price they charge. Went to see the paw patrol and it was just rushed through didnt even give me a chance to get a nice picture before they ushered us along. Avoid at all costs.

The day began with a car park attendant shouting at me to move when I was getting my baby out of the car (despite there being plenty of space for the next car to park along side me) and didn’t improve much from there.

After queuing for around 15 minutes next to overflowing biffa bins and plant pots full of dead flowers and cigarette butts we reached the front where we enquired about the ride token system and were told we could purchase them inside once we had entered the ‘farm’.

I use the term farm very loosely as this is not what I found this place to be.

Inside we found a large play park which looked perfect for older children but only one small slide for little ones. Then there are a few small rides crammed in to one area of the ‘amusement park’ with no clear signage as to where to purchase tokens. After asking a member of staff I was directed to a rather large queue at the opposite end of the walkway. You need at least 2 tokens per ride at £1 per token, but some are 4/5 tokens so be prepared to spend a small fortune.

We then headed to the actual animal farm. Wow. The few animals there are reside in very small enclosures with little to no grass. My two year old kept exclaiming, ‘it stinks!’ which is not surprising as there was so much excrement in them! They look like they had not been cleaned out in days. The poor rabbits especially had barely any hay in their hutch and the little they did have was soaked in urine. They must have been cleaned at some point though, as right by the main were wheelbarrows piled high with stinking feaces which had obviously been there a while. With small children wondering around these should not be just left in customer accessible areas.

We did not even bother with the free soft play area as it was absolutely packed! There is a cafe inside the soft play area, which can only be described as chaos, so we headed back outside where we also struggled to find somewhere to sit and eat lunch and breastfeed the baby as there a very few benches compared with the amount of people. Entry slots to the ‘farm’ should be more staggered to try and help ease the overcrowding issues.

Overall the whole place is poorly maintained and feels very grubby and run down. Even the mere £3 entry price seems too high. I would much rather pay more money to visit a farm and see well cared for animals than basically paying to enter a play park.
