The Antica Pieve di Santo Stefano is a beautiful Church - ceilings and plasterwork. It is over 1200 years old (8th C). Lovely Church in middle of Malcesine worth the visit.

The Antica Pieve di Santo Stefano should be visited. It is more than 1200 years old and is well kept and fine restored. So beautifull church room. We enjoyed this short and peaceful visit mid town of Malcesine.

The Pieve di Santo Stefano dates back to the 8th century and stands in the place of a pagan temple that was transformed into a place of Christian worship, The church was completely restored at the beginning of the 14th century and completely rebuilt in the 18th century. Now, the church has only one nave, a vaulted ceiling with awesome paint works and three altars on each side. Recommendable to walk in and admire the interior. Admission is free.…

We attended Saturday night vigil mass in Santo Stefano. A beautiful church, well worth visiting even if you don't attend mass. Go up the slope walk rather than all the stairs.
