We entered this building hoping to see the interior but there was a rehearsal underway for a forthcoming concert and access was restricted for a couple of hours. We therefore had to satisfy ourselves with what we saw in the internal area that was open to visitors and the external garden area adjoining Lake Garda.

We liked to watch around, the nice view to the lake. You can alo see old fresk at the top of the tunel.

We did not get to spend much time in this building but it was very old and the painting was beautiful. Do spend time visiting this historical building and have fun exploring.

You can visit the Captains Palace and see the fresco and gardens by the lake for free during the day. We went to a classical morning concert which was performed by a flautist and pianist. This was held upstairs in a beautiful room with views over the lake. Drinks (prosecco or non-alcoholic) and snacks were included in the ticket price. A holiday highlight.

The piano recital was held in a room not normally open to the public. Varied programme covering Bach and Debussy.

It dates back to the 13/14 th century. When we visited we only had access to part of the ground floor and the courtyard boat landing area and the outside . The building is now a preserved monument. Worth a mention is the ceiling painting on the ground floor as you enter to go to the courtyard. Free to enter the parts we saw.

The Palazzo is a beautiful building , which hosts events such as art exhibitions and concerts. The gardens are lovey and have stunning views over the lake . Plus it's home to a family of cats who I fed every day , making our holiday even more special .

Once the House or Palace of rich families. Then the home of The Capitani del Garda ( I assume he was in charge of administration of the traffic if ships on the Lake in the old days.
Now a building for certain official purposes - and also a place for concerts with regular intervals.
In the centre of Malcesine.

Historic house now a municipal building - some rooms used as the town library and tourist office and an exhibition area/ art gallery. The main reception room has a beautifully painted ceiling opening on to a lakeside courtyard garden planted with palm trees. There is a lovely tranquil atmosphere, especially when the harpist was there at night

Lovely views of the lake in the garden at the back. Really cool exhibitions. Lots of links to the history of Malcesine and the Veneto region- essential to visit!
