Ok if you have not seen my other posts. I am the overweight 57 that’s still thinks he is athlete.
For my second day of hiking Madonna di Campiglio I decide to go to Lago Malghette.
I took the gondola up to Prada lago. I was going to take the easy 22 or 265 trail. But I kept lookinig at the 267 trail up Monte Zeledria . I asked some locals and they said it was not realt technical. So I went for it.
It is not a hard trail but you have to be used to climbing to peaks. There were cables that were not that useful but still great to hang on to. There was a ladder 3 meters in height, their was some climb from rock to rock but in the end you did get to a peak with an Italian flag. Going down the back side was also with cables and ladders but not that difficult. I then chose to take the shortcut 267 route. It was narrow but very doable. Remember every hiker has his own limts I am trying to explain the risk but you are your own decision maker.
Once you connect up with the real 267 you then go by the tri laghi and alto lagni and finally end up at lago maighhette. This took me about 4 hours maybe 5. At Magighette I had a beer and then headed back to Madonna Di Campiglio. I was planning to take the trial track to the pradolago gondola but took a wrong turn and ended up in casina Zeledria. I then followededthevski trail back to the town. Total trip was about 10 miles and 6 hours. Again mostly downhill. Beautiful views

We took the Pradalago lift up from Madonna di Campiglio, a quick & beautiful 6-10 minute ride, got off at the top and enjoyed a lovely 90 minute hike through alpine meadows complete with stunning Dolomite views and a herd of cows with bells jangling. About halfway, the trail edges into the forest and begins to gently descend to its culmination at Lago delle Malghette. We encountered a wide range of hiker ages from youngsters with parents to a couple in their 80s; no one seemed to have any particular difficulty with the trail. The charming Refugio at the lake was the dessert after a fine meal: polite, efficient, friendly staff, a good menu, quick service, clean (and free) restrooms, tasty well prepared food, and all at water’s edge with great views of the emerald green lake.

Was in Madonna di Campiglio in 3rd week of june.
Whole area was limited and very little restaurants and lifts were open.
We went up on the predalgo lift. Took the path to Lago Della Malghette. Was a nice Hike. Very easy to walk. Arrived at the station around 10pm. It was closed.
Nice area with lake and waterfall. A bit disappointed when it was closed.

Buona vacanza!
