Along with Basilica Santa Croce, this building comprises a single complex. This building was constructed in 1549 after the original building was demolished to allow the expansion of the Castle. Today the Palazzo is no longer a religious building, but the seat of government for the Province and Prefecture. It has a decorated doorway that leads to an inner courtyard and across the street is the City Park

Adjacent to the Santa Croce Basilica, this Palace also boasts an impressive baroque facade.
Unfortunately while you can enter the courtyard, you cannot visit the Palace

Palazzo dei Celestini is located just to the left of Basilica Santa Croce. Giuseppe Zimbalo and Giuseppe Cino - two well known baroque architects engaged in many barocco leccese projects - were responsible for the ornamented facade. Served to the convent of Celestine convent but in early 19th century it became the governmental buidling, nowadays it's the seat of local prefecture. You can walk through the courtyard and reach the public gardens.
