I just returned from my second trip to Puglia, both with Cinzia. (Stile Mediterraneo) The beauty, the people, the food, the olive oil, and the wine of the region filled my heart.and soul. Cinzia is so organized, thoughtful, thorough and brilliant/knowledgeable, and funny that I felt as though I entered a story book tale. Life in the south of Italy and with Cinzia is just that perfect. I overwhelmingly recommend her trips for all "wanna-be Italians, and anyone else who wants to experience paradise.

Oh my goodness. I mean, so much goodness! This was my second trip with Cinzia. The first was 3 years ago with 2 friends. This year, we talked 3 more into coming with us. It was the trip of a lifetime. She took us to her favorite shops in Milan before heading to Alba the next day. Such goodness. We toured (with 4 others) Alba and its surroundings, in the Piedmont region. We attended the International Truffle Fair, tasted wonderful cheeses, wines, dined in spectacular places (castles, even!), and had a cooking class with 2 marvelous chefs plus Cinzia, all expertly arranged by Cinzia. We got to go truffle hunting one beautiful fall morning and found several black truffles! (Truth: the dogs find the truffles. We cheer them on.) We got to enjoy a couple of days of Marika's company this time, as well. Such a treat! I can't recommend Cinzia's tours highly enough. She makes it all seem so easy - and she is so much fun, and knows so much! Please, do yourself this kindness: go on a trip with Cinzia.

1) The tour group was small: no flag to follow or earphones to wear or disgruntled group members to trip over. 2) The tour attracted fun, friendly, interesting people, respectful of each other and of place too. 3) The food was constantly fantastic: of the region, fresh, tasty, surprising, thoughtful. 4) The wine was constantly fantastic: of the region, fresh, tasty, soulful, spirited. 5) The place we stayed (for the full week) was constantly fantastic: unpack that bag and . . . take a dip, have a drink, or take a nap, have a chat in the super snuggly chairs of the library. 6) Particularly intriguing were the visits to the different farm-restaurant establishments where we walked through the olive groves, vineyards, and vegetable fields, hearing directly from the producers how they held to organic-plus processes (of irrigation, soil maintenance, solar power) while remaining financially feasible. 7) #6 activity was always balanced with time in the producer’s kitchen and at their table, learning regional recipes from the resident chef(s) and sharing a meal in celebration. 8) Hands-on hands-on hands-on! 9) We learned the truth about gluten. Ah ha! 10) We learned to make bread from hard durum wheat flour. Wheat berries + proper grinding = tasty bread that is good for you. 11) We visited a bakery celebrated for its Nun’s Tetta’s (as in the English ta-ta’s). Seriously. 12) We visited a confectionery that made the best candy I have every eaten in my life: imagine the lush taste of your grandma’s old-recipe lemon square, packed round a resident almond, the whole covered in a shiny silver coating of almond-whatever. Oh my oh my. 13) Cinzia is every adjective I’ve used in the prior twelve reasons, as well as super intelligent and concerned you learn, without being stuffy. I learned a lot. I laughed a lot. And in the most delicious of ways.

This was my second time with Cinzia and Marika after almost 10 years. And again, it was magical. Very educating and meaningful. I was solo traveler that joined another small group of people and eventually found new friends. We spent one week in a such special place of Puglia – La Murgia. Living in the peaceful nature among olive and grape trees, hidden away from all the noise of the world (Biomasseria Lama di luna). We were learning to cook devine foods with best restaurant chefs of area (Chef Sabino/Ceffalicchio, chef Gennaro/Masseria Barbera) taste exceptional vines and get to know very special and inspiring people. People whos philosophy of life is very meaningful for saving nature and old traditions. It was a honnor to visit biodynamic agriculture farm of Giancarlo Ceci, artisanal Giovanni Mucci family’s confetti production, unique small family bakery in Almatura, Ceffalicchio olive oil and vine producer, lovelly Masseria Barbera in Minervino Murge, Pietro Zitos restaurant Antichi Sapori. All these places left footprints not only in my memory, they gave me posiibility to meet owners of these places, have a talk and understand how devoted they are to their land, philosophy and family traditions. I am still fascinated and very greatful that I had this opportunity. This experience is not only about food and travel. It is about the importance of balance in our lifes, respect for the nature and healthy lifestyle. After this trip, I feel a better person, it changed my way of thinking and ofcourse cooking. Cinzia is very experienced, devoted and fun person to be with and learn from. And after meeting her again after 10 years I see how she has grown to a very high level proffesional that can create unforgettable and precious moments, to give profound knowledge and inspirtaion for those who seek. Thank you for making it so special!I will come back.

It was such a pleasure for Marika and I to have you again with us after 10 years. Thank you so much for your super nice words and for appreciating what we do in Puglia in order to promote food & wine producers who want to have an impact on the world through their products that are good for us and for the planet. I have to say that without the amazing people, like you, who joined us, our week would not have been so special. It's all about the people and Marika and I thank you so much for coming back and contributing so much with your enthusiasm for what we were providing. We really look forward to seeing you very soon again.
