This wall and entrance in this Garda village is spectacular, the castle appeared to me non accessible by the public but was beautiful! The walk up to the gate is just fantastic, gorgeous flowers and lovely weather just makes it more appealing. When visiting Lake Garda I would most definitely advice visiting this village.

The town of Lazise is just a nice walk along the lakeside from 'Caesius therme spa' hotel, passing 'Cisano' on the way you even see a lot of wild life on your journey there.
Lazise is a lovely town with the castle and its great walls that surround it, there are lots of shops selling reasonably priced items, there are lots of restaurants and bars also.
we have just returned from this region in Italy and is a place everyone should visit if they have a holiday at lake Garda.

This place was recommended to me by locals in Verona as well as the tourist office in Desanzano. It is surrounded by walls on 3 sides and the lake on the other. It is very small but the waterfront is just lovely. It is a picture-perfect small town on the lake. Not anything to do, just relax and have a drink and soak in the scenery. You can reach it by boat from Sirmione or from Garda. Also there is regular bus service.

We are just back from Italy and came across Lazise after dropping our teenagers off at Gardaland and driving up the road a bit to find somewhere to stop have a coffee, however we ended up staying for 7 hours ! There is so much to see in this enchanted place...beautiful walks alongside Lake Garda where you can stop off and have a drink or gelato, the views across the lake are beautiful, there is a pier where you can take a boat trip, a warren of side streets and little shops displaying glasswear, souveniers and food items. Various reasonably priced restaurants and of course the wonderful architecture itself. On the day we visited there was a wedding taking place - what an iconic venue! The weather was beautiful and it was not too busy when we visited on a Friday morning. Definitely worth visiting.

We've been to lake garda several times and had no clue or knowledge of this facinating walled village on the edge of the lake.. We learnt by chance whilst staying in Sirmione we got chatting to a couple on the table next to us whilst dining who recommended we visit lazise. They also recommended visiting on market day, but it wasn't an option for us. But i have to say we enjoyed wandering the narrow streets through the walled village and find the plazas with cafes and bars where sitting and people watching is a delight, you can also stroll the water front promenade to the next village

Lovely city walls give thus place its own identity. Sirmione has similar walls but prob not kept as in tact as what you have in lazise. This gives it its own charming character with lovely gateways and arches

Lazise is almost fully pedestrianised at the centre and so you can roam quite freely (though listen out for three-wheelers and scooters!). The walls show the old watchtowers and military crenellations so necessary in the Renaissance. Really atmospheric and enjoyable, as well as containing a pretty and well-serviced town centre, shops and restaurants galore.

Beautiful walled town, perfect to spend the day strolling, photographing, sipping great coffee, enjoying a glass of vino on the promenade or harbour. Highly recommended. Lots of parking nearby €150-€2.00 per hour.
