I had seen this farm highlighted in a television special in Australia about very well educated children who are leaving well paid jobs in the cities, eg in finance, law etc, to return to the family farms and introduce innovative techniques and new products to try and bring them into the 21st century. In this instance from memory the farm already had buffalo but the son convinced the parents to employ a very experienced mozzarella cheese maker/s from Compania (the home of buffalo mozzarella) and to install a totally new and very modern cheese making production facility. Judging from what we saw and what we tasted, this is a success.

The shop (a very unassuming orange brick building standing on its own in the middle of the fields) is located within the farm on the flat plains of the Maremanna, less than 10 kilometres from the coast and the Tyrrenian Sea, and only a couple of kilometres from a military airbase (the noise was deafening as the jets took off and landed and we wondered whether this adversely impacted the buffalo - no they have been here for a few decades and are used to it).

The building containing the shop front also housed the cheese making production facility which you could see through a glass window.

A very pleasant young lady gave us a taste of the mozzarella (delicious) and explained what cheeses were on offer which included buffalo ricotta, burrata plus a number of others. They also had a range of buffalo milk yoghurts and buffalo meat products plus several other local farm products.

We had 2 buffalo milk cappuccinos, purchased a number of different cheese products and left with change out of €20.

There was a machine there that issued numbers so that the people serving know who is next in line so I am assuming it can get very busy.

Worth a visit if staying locally but would not travel far to purchase goods.

We did not do the farm tour.

Great visit to the buffaloes. Arrived early and sat in the cafe waiting for our tour guide. She was very good and spoke in English the whole time.
Explained how the farm operates, how the cheeses are made and then we walked around the farm seeing the buffaloes etc. Very interesting
When we returned to the cafe we then tasted cheese and meats. Amazing
Would highly recommend

She goes: "what size you want your mozzarella? 500 g? Okay!" And she nock on the glass window that separates her from the lab and orders it right away, since she didn't have one ready. They grow most of the grains they feed their buffalos with and produce most of the energy their activity required. A must see for the kids.

in a place that claim to take care of the environment I do not expect to eat in plastic plates with plastic fork and knife. Use bioplastic or, better, ceramics, glass and metal.

Loved Diego at the farm. He thought the tour was 9:30 so maybe trip advisor needs to update? Or maybe call ahead. Not everyone speaks English but they were very helpful! Lots of flies made it a bit hard for us to focus on the Buffalo but it was still neat. Maybe bug spray would help? The cheese was delicious as was the hazelnut gelato! Yum!

I visited twice this week; first to taste many of the wonderful buffalo cheeses produced on site - including a wonderful blue cheese which I would highly recommend. The buffalo meat is well worth a try and it's much better for you than traditional beef. My second visit took in the farm tour - we got to see the whole farming cycle from the calves to the milking process. The owners and staff are clearly very forward looking in their approach and I recommend you visit

We bought first-class buffalo mozzarella, buffalo ricotta, ice cream made from buffalo milk and other products here. The service was very friendly and we would be happy to come back here any time.
