This sanctuary site wasn't so far from our Villa Pamar. As we walked along the Lungamare street, the main pedestrian and touristic lane in Giardini or were on the beach downward, we always could hear at certain hours during the day, the sounding of organs and bells of belfry, while the mass was in proceeding. And that has been quite sympathetic.
The building of church is very maintained, neat and freshly yellow washed. The central part of this saint edifice has got three high wooden arched doors, with the beautiful frescoes within the arcs, representing some episodes from the life of San Pancrazio.
In the front of the building, there is one marble statue of San Pancrazio with the plint, on which is engraved the bas relief, depicting some events of his life.
Inside the chursh we saw the old painting showing St.Pancrazio and the picture of " The Pieta".
St.Pancrazio was native of Antiochia, today a city in Siria. He came here in Naxos on the island of Sicily, in 40 AD, to spread the Christian Faith.
Wonderful, indeed !
