First, we would like to thank Monica (and her colleague) for showing us the Ridotto and the main Auditorium of this delightful theatre. They were so helpful and friendly. The theatre is a jewel (it reminded me a bit of the Fenice in Venice) It was great to learn about the theatre's history, its fine accoustics and other capability and the type of events that take place there - even though we couldn't attend anything on the day we were there.

We attended a concert in the Ridotto del Teatro Communale di Ferrara Claudio Abbado and the building is a delight. The main theatre is so pretty and feels very intimate. The Ridotto is very elegant and good for smaller events.

We saw a splendid production of Falstaff put on by a musical academy in Ferrara. The entire commune seemed to be proud of their students. The staging was original and effective. It was a great pleasure to sit in a box in a small confection of a theater and listen to Opera as it was meant to be performed.

The Teatro Comunale is a gorgeous, smaller size theatre on the edge of the old town of Ferrara. It is wonderfully atmospheric with an excellent variety of events that represent what a cultural place Ferrara is to visit. The boxes are adorable, but the better acoustics are in the main stalls of the auditorium. Recommended.

As a makeup artist who worked backstage I must say this teatro has never failed me feeling good about it. It is very clean, big and comfortable for all casts and crews working behind the scenes. Not only that, the historical feeling is always there. I always want to come back not just as an audience but also someone who works there backstage.
