Saw the tower below the castle but didn't visit. It was originally built in late C19th century as a meeting place for men of culture. It was restored in 2014 and the tower is now an observatory and multi-media museum about the history and culture of the area.

Don't expect a huge or amazing piece of architecture, but as almost everywhere in Erice expect beautiful landscapes, which is why you shouldn't miss this it, it would be too bad.
You will reach this place by walking the streets of this village and then finally get there, at the end of the village.
You can also go straight from the Cable car by taking the southern street boarding the village till its end.
You'll reach then 4 nice places: the Gardens of Balio, the Castello del Balio o Pepoli, this Torretta Pepoli and last the Castello di Venere.
You'll have the opportunity to admire stunning landscapes spreading maybe up to hundred kilometers around.
It is actually really beautiful and probably this should be more the purpose of this trip than visiting the village itself.

Set below the castle, therefore you don't get 360 views. I wouldn't bother paying €12 pp for the combined ticket for 5 sites in Erice.

...But no so much attractions inside the tower that would keep you lingering. The tower has been renovated, and the balconies and various locations inside the tower gives you breathtaking views of the castle and the surrounding area. But I think one can skip it (especially that there is a steep walk to and from it) and not missing too much.

Alas, we could not enter. We enjoyed the view and walk to it. Another amazing building feat. Makes the stomach turn over just thinking about construction and finishing the outer walls!

For us this castle was not what we expected. 4 euro entrance was a bit steep for such a small place which doesn't take you more than 5 minutes to go through. The place is very empty but then as with a lot of places the views are amazing. There is even a footpath to Trapani from there. In any case. A must see? No but if you don't might the steep walk and you have the Erice pass then go for it.

Nice place and gives you nice views over the castle, but at the moment, it seems to be closed. Not sure if because of Covid-19, or something else.

The Tower of Pepoli is well worth a visit. When we went it seemed that many other visitors bypassed it (maybe because it is a step ramp in and out), but we were very pleased we went it. It has been beautifully restored and if that isn't enough, the 360 degree views will delight you.

I am afraid of heights....but I love seeing things from on high...it is a long climb up, but worth the view you get...if you want to be pleased...it is easy to be

They have an interesting audio visual as you enter & there are steps up to different levels. The views are excellent & you are sitting on top of a tiny outcrop. But that's it.
