Didn't go inside this C17th Spanish fort but walked past when walking round the town - great views from the site. Didn't realise there was a museum inside.

Honestly, the building is not very interesting and the exposition are meh. However, you can take some pretty amazing pictures from the surroundings. Probably my favourite spot to take picture in all of Erice.

The positive reviews were spot on. We lunched outside in the courtyard and the food was well presented and cooked, consumed in a great setting. The lack of a mention of beer on the menu was disappointing but that provided was excellent if expensive (and strong!)

This area has been recently renovated and gives you one of the best views from Erice to the coast. Totally worth it!
There is a small parking lot close to the Spanish Quarter, that for the moment, is still free, because they are still finishing the works up there.

Struggled to find the Spanish Quarter at first. We got there early before anything was open. We didn't go back later on in the day even though we had a combined ticket to get into the site.

Walking around Erice is a great way to spend the day but if you want to get away from the crowds then head out to the Spanish Quarter and the views from the cliff top will reward you for your efforts.

Being at 800m, inclement weather can suddenly ruin your walk so take some waterproofs!
Managed to catch an hour’s window and was it fab!

Great scenery from outside the "museum" building. Inside the museum, there are displays traditional arts and crafts and info on (and artifacts from) the fishing industry in the area (mostly in Italian)
