Two sets of long queues to get here - firstly for the coach / taxi. Then for the gondola itself. Thankfully a gorgeous day surrounded by stunning mountains so it was ok. Gondola itself moved pretty efficiently. The views from up top were stunning. Just a gorgeous place to enjoy the surrounding dolomites ! And then the amazing hidden valley run which was worth the admission fee alone ! Even in the slightly wild weather on the exposed upper section.

I highly recommend to go up this mountain in your trip to the Dolomites area. They have a big parking space infront of the ticket office. The cable car was full but I was able to manage to video the ride going up as I saw a little window of opportunity above the cable car driver's head to document the ascent. I love cable cars and I love recording the ascent and descent. However, there were people already ahead of me when we entered the cable car.
This cable car runs fast especially as it was nearing the top. I saw 2 people climbing up the mountain. For those who like to go via ferrata, the possibility is there.
Wished I was in good form to hike longer but I managed 7000 steps. Not bad for someone who experienced heel pain at the time. The views are magnificent. We used 3 hours being there. We also had some light meal at the Rifugio up there. This Rifugio really offers dishes not just pastries.
The road around this area which is called Passo Fazelrego is very beautiful too.
I am in love with the beautiful nature here. Why did God give everything to the Dolomites?:)

Arriving by bus at Falzorego pass you take the cable car up to Lagazuoi. Prepare to wait a little for the way up. The view up there is just outstanding. Most come up there (including me) for the famous Lagazuoi-Armentarola ski run. Its a very cool, not too difficult and scenic 8km run. At about 2/3 the way down there is an ice fall where you can often spot ice climbers. At the end of the run you are offered a horse lift (horse carriage with long ropes pulling up to 20 skiers at a time) or taxi ride back to the Armentarola bus station.
Pros:
-unique experience
-nice ski day trip if residing in Val Gardena or around
-you always get a bus pretty quickly at Armentarola station (almost never wait)
-ski run/lift connection to Cortina d'Ampezzo
-high quality food at rif. Lagazuoi
-Scenery/landscape
Cons:
-horse lift and bus ride to Falzorega pass not included in ski ticket
-waiting ~10-30min for the cable car

A little old cable car, but it does its job perfectly. In a few minutes you reach the mountain near the Lagazuoi Refuge. In good weather, you have a beautiful view.

The cable car does its job and has a large cabin, but it is very expensive (20 euros just to get down) as well as having very rude staff. Go on foot they don't deserve your money and stay healthy ;)

I put the lowest score only and exclusively to emphasize the fact that they charged € 17.50, I repeat € 17.50 to let the dog into the cabin... it is practically shameful to charge such a amount. I have a lot of experience in health implants with my dog and everywhere I went to any height and type of implant never, ever I paid a similar amount... and the climb lasted practically about 3 minutes... shameful

Having visited the website of the Lagazuoi cable car to get as much information as possible on the feasibility of going to Lagazuoi by cable car and going down via the "great war" tunnel, it seemed quite easy and the only recommendation was to be equipped with a torch. Which was also confirmed when I bought the ticket at the cable car ticket office.
It's not the first time I've hiked in the mountains and I assure you it wasn't easy at all. The use of not only a torch, but also a helmet and harness should be mandatory, given the cost of the cable car (the one-way ticket costs 20 euros and not 17 euros as written on the site, and the rental of the torch costs 7.5 euros ) I expected explanatory plates that were not reduced to a QR code that would be difficult to consult in such a situation.

A fast cable car that takes you to the refuge at 2750 meters above sea level. Stunning views across the Dolomites and the possibility of having lunch outdoors or indoors with some of the local specialities. The view is worth the climb and for skiers it is a paradise.
