Not matter what age you are - you must see this beautiful castle even if you can only see the outside and the grounds - not recommended for elderly or infirm as there are no lifts

For a couple of euros, you gain entrance into a circa 1478 castle, which also serves as a city museum. We enjoyed the collection, and the climb to the top, with the resulting view of Conegliano's surroundings; hills to the north, and vast plain to the south. No guide, and limited, but adequate information available.

The Castle is a place you don't want to miss if you are in Conegliano. Easy access with a car or by foot is about a twenty minutes easy hike. Once you are up there you can visit the castle's museum inside (check for schedule and price) and get on the very top, where, on a clear day (after the rain) you can spot Venice looking South with a good binocular. Eat at the nearby restaurant.Enjoy.

One can take the walk up to the castle by following a thick brown line paiinted on the ground near the main square. the line goes up all the way to the castle and one can view some lovely scenes on the way. Lovely houses and peaceful surroundings.! Upon reaching the top, nice views from up there of the town beneath you and the mountains at the back with some snow on them. ~We did not enter inside the Castle as the view from the grounds was quite enough for us.

It is worth to climb, the garden is very nice, the tower is interesting and one can feel the touch of past centuries
The view from the top of the tower is astonishing, especially as it was New Year's Eve

On a clear day you can see for miles! The museum is small but interesting--several paintings, suits of armor, archaeological finds.
A few tips: Large vehicles will not fit. you must park somewhere and walk up. There was a small lot on the left just before the tunnel.
No A/C--it's an old castle:)
There's a small restaurant/snack bar on the top. The menu was small but inexpensive, again, unbelievable views! (We want to go back just to eat at the restaurant.)

Entire visit took just over an hour.

Walked up the path to the castle and had some drinks in the cafe/bar at the top. We enjoyed sitting on the little porch that is tucked in the trees. We couldn't go in the castle museum because a wedding was finishing up, but it was fun to watch locals celebrate a special occasion. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area. The walk to the top only takes about 20 minutes, but it is fairly steep. Kids could do it, but someone with mobility issues might find it too challenging.

Before heading up the Prosecco road I wanted to detour and see the castle. We're glad we did, Unfortunately the museum had just closed otherwise I'd probably give this 5* but the views from the outside are still great. Beautiful grounds and views of the countryside. Restaurant next to it very good.

Although there is not much left of the actual old castle, the two standing towers are worth a visit. One hosts a small but interesting museum, and the other one a bar, perfect for a glass of wine after the climb up (if you get there on foot). There is a great panoramic view from up there.
