The original structure of the church dates back to the 6th century but over time it has been heavily remodeled both inside and outside. The final result is that of a building that has no stylistic unity but is still striking for its architectural particularities and the atmosphere of the general context. The reused Roman columns are beautiful, all different. Upon entering there is immediately a staircase and on the left on the internal facade you can turn on the light by inserting €1 into the coin mechanism.

The Co-Cathedral of San Secondiano, the main place of worship in Chiusi, is an ancient church, dating back to the sixth century.
However, it is not very old, since it was rebuilt several times.
The most interesting part is the interior which, distinguished by three naves, preserves a beautiful presbytery with a splendid mosaic floor of the fourth - fifth century.
Very beautiful are also the frescoes on the walls while, more recent, are the frescoes in the apse, dating back to 1894, however well preserved.
Visit recommended.

We found this cathedral to be particularly beautiful. While not a large church, the appointments are engaging and encourage one to sit and admire. The roof is not decorated, but the beams and wood lend a warmth to the vault of the ceiling. When we have visitors, this is a church we will bring them to see.

We stopped here primarily to see the labyrinth of Porsenna, but looked in the cathedral’s museum first. On the upper level there is a long hallway with display cases of music. Very beautifully displayed books.

The cathedral is very interesting and beautiful, built in the Romanesque style, with an outstanding mosaic above the altar. It's nothing special from the outside.

We were fortunate to attend Mass on June 2nd which was the First Communion date. All people waited until the parade of priests, communicants and family processed into the ancient cathedral. The children were dressed in long white robes and girls had a halo of flowers in their hair. We felt honored to be there to witness the pomp and ceremony of a beautiful occasion.

The cathedral of Chiusi stands close by to the Etruscan museum. The church is quite simple inside with a beautiful fresco in the apse behind the altar. Simple, but beautiful.
