Very nice city, enough parking in the pedestrian zone
(Mid-September) good alternative to Venice, as there are not such crowds here. Many smaller restaurants and cafes. The deduction of a point is because everything was somehow not so clean.

Beautiful avenue in Chioggia centre, where many local people have breakfast with coffee early in morning. There is a lot of traffic as well, too many cars and less traffic limitations and rules

On weekdays it's a nice town to visit, but during weekend it can be very crowded. One of the bigger regional markets is also held in this town.

A very casual mix of cars and pedestrians on this main street through this small town. Everyone seems to be out strolling the street and meeting friends for drinks and food.

If your tired of the crowds and lines in Venice, Chioggia is a nice little fishing village on the southern end of the Venice Lagoon, and the Corso del Popolo is the main shopping and business street that runs up the center of the town. Lots of little shops and a few restaurants and bars. We were lucky to be there on market day so the Corso was filled with booths and vendors.

Corso del Popolo is the main street on which many side streets intersect. There is the cathedral, the clock tower and some cafes where you can have a cup of coffee and watch people walking around.

The 800 M long Corso del Popolo stretches from the Santa Maria/Garibaldi Gate in the South up North towards the port.
Alongside this street, Chioggia's most important building can be found, like the cathedral and the town hall. But also many shops, bars and restaurants.
This street is also the place for the Thursday market.

Chioggia is a tiny edition of Venice, but contrary to Venice, Chioggia is graced with a real main street, running from south to north in the middle of the peninsula. It is lined with bars, restaurants, shops and the occasional church, and at the top of the street is the Lagune of Venice, where you can take a boat tour of the Lagune, if your wallet allows, or the bus boat to Venice.

The real center of the city life is here - ancient buildings, offices, churches, restaurants & bars, shops. But - most important - people from Chioggia meeting and chatting. A very good view of the city life, that can be enjoyed also when raining, since there are nice porticos along the Corso.

Beautiful walk in the main street of the historic center of Chioggia with the possibility to visit the very characteristic side streets. Continuing to the end you can admire the lagoon.
