The first church was built in 1633 in this area full of vegetable gardens ( Orti in italian language that give the name to the first church ) afther the miraculous apparition of the Virgin Mary which occurred, according to tradition, on 2 July 1610 , after 200 yers
was decided to enlarge the church over the ancient one. The neoclassical structure was built using white marble as a material and dividing it into eight Corinthian columns. The façade was completed in 1938 by inserting five marble bas-relief panels - depicting episodes from the life of the Virgin - made by the sculptor Rodolfo Castagnino based on a design by the architect Luigi Daneri.
Internal with a typical decoration of Baroque-Rococo style

doesn't look like a cathedral from the outside more like a Greek facade at the front ceiling under repair but quite nice inside

Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Garden. This 17th century cathedral stands tall like a Greek Temple, preceded in the façade by a pronaos supporting a classical tympanum. The interior is a rich Baroque decorations. The frescoes enhance the stupendous beauty of this magnificent Cathedral. It's about a minute walk from the station and surrounded by arcades and piazza. It's a feast to the heart.

You wouldn’t expect such an impressive church in a small town, more like something at the Vatican.

It’s very rich and deep in gold color.

The Cathedral of Nostra Signora del Giardino (Our Lady of the Garden) was built after the miraculous appearance of the Virgin Mary on 2 July 1610 in the area where once the gardens were located.
In this place, there was already a pylon depicting the Madonna, so the decision was made to erect a new religious temple near the ancient pylon.
The classical church underwent considerable architectural changes at the turn of the 19th and the 20th century such as the construction of the three naves, the powerful pronaos and new frescoes inside.
The design was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome.
The interior of the cathedral has a Latin cross plan and is divided into three naves by two rows of round arches resting on quadrangular pillars. The cruise is covered with a dome.
Inside there are numerous works of art of great importance and artistic value, such as the high altar, the 17th century choir and numerous awesome frescoes.
Admission is free, but a (small) donation will always be appreciated.

A combination of different architectural styles well blended in, from the white marble columned front to the airy light baroque style interior. Adjacent to the old priest seminar containing a small Religious Art Museum.

If not for the cross you would not know this was a church as it’s more reminiscent of a courthouse. Beautiful architecture that seems to blend three or four different styles over time.

Certainly this looks like a Greek temple at first glance, but the cross atop is the giveaway.Impressive façade and pleasant interior (not overly ornate).
