This was a summer colony named after Gustavo Fara, hence the name The Fara colony. Commissioned by the National Facist Party,1935 as holiday resort for children. Benito Mussolini inaugurated the resort,1938. It went through so many uses from the end of the 2nd WW to hosting refugees from Istaria. Today it's been re-done as a luxury hotel, and according to company restoring it,it will open around August this year, 2019. You wouldn't miss this site as it's dominated by this tall building.

This is a left-over of fascist architecture from the 1930's. As such, it should probably be taken down. It is a very ugly building according to me, I believe it is built to look vaguely like the fascist symbol made with sticks & axe but I could be wrong. It has been left standing next to the beach for as long as I can remember (40 or so years) without actually being under any kind of proper use. Every summer I think it was home to a summer camp of some sort. Presumably, even this low level activity was deemed to risky at some point because the building was so run down and dilapidated. I went close to it around 30 years ago and it really did look in a dangerous state of disrepair.

I have seen the building recently from my car and it appears to have been renovated somewhat. However, I do not know the details.

You can’t visit the building apart from the not-so-good restaurant at the base. The building looks quite modern for one that is over 100 years old, but not impressive.
