Peaceful walks

Beautiful park which is very peaceful with stunning views over Chiavari. In some parts it needs some TLC, but nothing major. Worth a visit for only 1€

The overriding impression is that this needs an extensive well-planned reinvigoration with lots of TLC to make it special as it probably once was. Worth a visit but don't have too high expectations. The entrance was not easy to find entry for 1 Euro means you get a bargain. Perhaps it should charge more to fund improvements and the right... More

The entrance is a little away from the sign, you need to walk up the winding path from the left. Entrance was a 1 Euro there are variety of paths around the site. It was nice and cool walking around, good shoes and be a reasonable fitness required.

Bit of a route march to get there although there is a lift that takes you part of the way. Wish we hadn't bothered. Obviously been very nice at some time but has been allowed to fade. Needs some serious work doing on it to make it worthwhile. Some nice plants but not really worth the effort.

The gardens are stunning and so peaceful to walk around where you can see all the different plants, most of which have the country of origin, listen to the waterfall and just escape from all your troubles

There is even a lift available (hiding, right at the back of the courtyard at ground level, in a passageway on the back right hand side) to get you halfway or more up to the entrance. Wonderful views from the terrace when you get out of the lift, right down to the seafront across the Square. One whole euro to... More

For just 1 euro, you can wander the paths around this beautiful villa in Chiavari amongst huge bushes of Birds of Paradise flower, a palm tree and fir tree collection, waterfalls, rockeries, shady spots to enjoy the scented gardens and views out across the historic town to the sea. Don't miss it if you have a gardener's genes.

It is of special interest to me because I went to school near there at the convent of the Gianelline and I used to see it everyday before it was left to the town by the family Rocca. Now it is well cultivated and open to the public every day for a small fee.

It was a 5 minute walk from the Hotel Monte Rosa. At one point there is an entry booth which will charge you a euro to see the orchid hot house which was VERY disappointing. . .I think only 2 orchids there. Otherwise, the park is free. A nice leisurely hillside park setting. You get great photo op vantage points... More
