The park of Villa Rocca is really nice with a view on the city center, unfortunately is neglected so many plants are really abandoned to themselves

For a mere euro, you can wander through a gem of a park, fragrant with plantings, charming with ruins, and great views over the city.

For just 1 euro, you can wander the paths around this beautiful villa in Chiavari amongst huge bushes of Birds of Paradise flower, a palm tree and fir tree collection, waterfalls, rockeries, shady spots to enjoy the scented gardens and views out across the historic town to the sea. Don't miss it if you have a gardener's genes.

Lovely botanical gardens right by the centre of town. Lots of succulents and exotic plants, trees and other species - very well maintained and a real gem.

4 and not 5 because nothing looks like anything is being done to improve the gardens. Back after three years and still only 1Euro entrance fee! Brilliant but would quite easily pay twice that if they invested in improving the site. There is an old very interesting building in the middle with bridge access that is now completely surrounded by boarding and scaffolding. Not enough plant signage, no site map or handout. Make this place more entertaining/interesting and increase the fee to 3 euros if you have to.

There is even a lift available (hiding, right at the back of the courtyard at ground level, in a passageway on the back right hand side) to get you halfway or more up to the entrance. Wonderful views from the terrace when you get out of the lift, right down to the seafront across the Square. One whole euro to wander the gardens, if you wish to do so. Wide asphalt pathways, but a few are a little on the steep side, but not too much.

It was a 5 minute walk from the Hotel Monte Rosa. At one point there is an entry booth which will charge you a euro to see the orchid hot house which was VERY disappointing. . .I think only 2 orchids there. Otherwise, the park is free. A nice leisurely hillside park setting. You get great photo op vantage points of the town of Chiavari and the Mediterranean in the distance (1/2 mile away). Worth the time if you are staying a week or more. Otherwise, I'd skip this park.

I spent a month in Chiavari and fell in love with Villa Rocca. It is a very relaxing park/garden with a nice view of the plaza/town.
The park is very scenic and a great place to have a picnic!

This place is a real treat to wonder round. Wonderful plant and tree specimens. Uphill walk so not for the faint hearted. I think they have a wheelchair trail. Some statues hidden an old buildings. Looks like they're starting to restore some of them as well.

We came here to have a wander and let our two young sons explore and let off some steam. It was lovely for that - nice paths that meander around, a pond with fish and turtles, some ok views from the top and plenty of shade from the sun.
The place could do with some more upkeep, but it is not disastrous. The paths are all decent, the plants are healthy but not overgrown, and the toilets are fine. There isn't a lot of signage to tell you about it, but it is still a pleasant place for a walk.

buongiorno io sono andata per l'epifania quest'anno e non ho visto nessuno con animali e mi sembra proprio di aver letto sulla pagina del parco che c'e' il divieto.
buona giornata
