Alfredo was top notch from the very moment we met all the way through to our post-shoot meeting over cappuccino in a local cafe. I signed up for a sunrise photography workshop and we met at 5:15am to explore some of the most stunning and scenic locations I've ever seen. He guided me through the shooting with advice on process and technical settings, and worked with me on building striking compositions. With all of that, he is a warm and friendly person, great company as well as an amazing photographer. I hope to shoot with him again! Highest recommendations.

Alfredo Falvo was our wedding photographer for our August 2022 nuptials in Montisi, Italy. Working with Alfredo was a delight - he was attentive to our needs, patient, and left us with full confidence that we could enjoy the day while he captured the moments. His calm and easy-going nature made him a wonderful addition to our wedding day.

Alfredo's photographs were just as we hoped: varied, beautifully composed, and carefully curated. He sent us a link to an online gallery and gave us generous time to download the photos. All in all we were incredibly pleased with Alfredo's photography services and give him the highest recommendation.

Tuscany Photography Day – Alfredo Falvo

Great 1 day private photography tour with Alfredo Flavo. We spent 8 hours of photographing the Val D'Orcia valley in the Montepulciano area of Italy. He is a professional photographer and resident of the area.

He spent time teaching me new photography techniques which are always great to learn and showing me the great locations to photograph.

I am an avid photographer and wanted to photograph the beautiful hills, valleys and scenery of the area in an efficient manner.

Alfredo showed me locations I could never have found on my own and helped be compose and expose stunning photographs of the area. We walked into locations only a local photographer would know. In addition, he had great interpersonal skills and life experiences we could share.

If you are in the Tuscany area don’t miss the opportunity to work with Alfredo and capture the beauty of Montepulic1ano valleys

Traveling from the US, I did not know the area but knew the types of shots I wanted to take. Tuscany Photography Day tour with Alfredo Falvo was the perfect solution. He picked me up and off we went to the classic localtions as well as the more local spots. He is personable, knowledgeable, and just a lot of fun. I'm loading my sd cards into my computer now and love the results! Thank you, Alfredo, for a fabulous time in your gorgeous region. See you again!

We planned to do a photography course in the Val d'Orcia and found Alfredo on his web site. We kept coming back to his glorious picture of a white horse and were interested in the variety of topics covered as well as the beautiful landscape. Although the workshops are structured to stand alone day by day, we decided to book them all as a full week.
We had one of our best holidays ever. We had spent time learning Italian in advance as we like languages and written English in the days of Google Translate is no guarantee of spoken English. We need not have worried. Alfredo speaks perfect English with a charming Italian accent.
We are both keen - as opposed to good - photographers and were very pleased that we found ourselves challenged to work in manual and to really think about the light.
When you are in a place at that moment only, the temptation is to take the picture regardless but the results are at best holiday snaps. By taking the right images in the right light our results are so much more. This was a big lesson learned. Of course Alfredo's ability to conjure up a spectacular sunset certainly helped...
When the light was wrong for our preferred landscape shots we worked at architecture and street photography. Neither of us much enjoys street photography, but we learned ideas and techniques which we will explore further in the less relaxed situations here in England.
The landscapes were stunning despite being brown through lack of rain. Alfredo's local knowledge enabled us to be in the right place in the right light. The views Alfredo found us took our breath away. It is just the most beautiful place and his intimate local knowledge and guidance on how to capture the scene really ensured that we could not fail to get photos which are a definite step up from our usual efforts.
More than that, Alfredo's encouragement to wait for the light has changed how we will work in future. Thank you so much for that.
You would think you could not better the excellence of the photo tuition and guiding, but you can. Our abiding memory of this holiday will be our memories of Alfredo himself. From helping us source local accommodation and answering all our questions in advance to being an excellent tutor and guide he exceeded not only expectations but hopes. We found him a great person to spend time with.
He was generous with his time and knowledge of all things Italian from the language to the culture and history to the food and how to cook it. We now know how to make a real carbonara!
At all times he was thoughtful and helpful, looking after us with care and consideration by dropping us close to shoots before parking and helping us on more challenging terrain. A real gentleman with a wealth of photographic experience and a surprising insight into issues worldwide.
Best of all he shared our sense of humour and just spending the week out and about in his company was a delight. We went to improve our photography and found a friend. You can't say better than that and the question is not 'will we be back?', but 'when?'

Dear Dik and Joy, what a review you wrote! I almost feel intimidated to reply! You described the workshop so well that I couldn't do it the same way you did, and you did it in a very positive way! I am so glad you enjoyed the time spent with me and the holidays and, just to let you know (though I guess you already know!) I had great time too and was very pleased of the week we spent together. We did work but had good time too, which doesn't really come second. You are a wonderful couple and now great friends of mine, really hope we can catch up soon in the near future. My very best wishes and keep in touch, Alfredo

Seeing the Tuscan countryside is amazing, but it's a different experience to see it also from the perspective of a professional photographer. My husband and I drove up from Florence to spend the day exploring and photographing the landscapes and villages in the Val D'Orcia region. This was equal parts tour, and photography workshop. Alfredo is extremely personable, and very patient. He is able to gauge skill level and tailor his instruction to suit the individual. Our tour did not focus solely on landscapes, we also got the chance to do a little street photography, and visit some sites used in the film the Gladiator. We sat down to lunch with Alfredo, and he showed us the best gelateria in La Pienza. Alfredo took us to some of the prettiest locations. There was no shortage of picturesque views. Overall, this was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. If you enjoy photography, I highly recommend spending the day with Alfredo.

I was going to Tuscany because my father was celebration his birthday there. Since I really like to take pictures, I wanted experience the Tuscan landscape and take pictures of it. Since I was not sure if the best spots allowed parking, and was going alone on my photo trip, I decided to look for a guided tour.

I googled and asked different people, after some research I ended up with Alfredo, and I am glad I did.

Since this was in the middle of July I went for a custom workshop from 11 o clock and till sunset.

I had a list of places I wanted to check out, and Alfredo showed me some amazing hidden spots. That you will not find on google. Spending the day with Alfredo was like driving around with a friend who also liked to take pictures. His English was perfect and he knew the area really well. We also had a midday meal at good restaurant he suggested. We saw many great places, and he had some cool facts about the places. He also provided great info about the places if they were sunset, or sunrise locations. I was a little concerned that we had time issues to reach or last stop, where we were going to photograph the sunset, but Alfredo had everything under control, so we arrived in good time. He also came with great photographic tips and suggestions for better compositions.

So again if you are looking for a photo guide who speaks good English, are a good photographer, has patience, and are easy to talk with, knows the area, and the best spots and the best times to shoot there Alfredo is you guy! You will not regret it.

Since many of the spots where in harsh light I will include the best picture, I took around sunset.

I came across Alfredo's information at a gelateria in Pienza and emailed him for a sunrise session at the last minute. He could not have been more accommodating. Not only did he rearrange his schedule so he could do the workshop, he came to our villa to pick me up (and drop me off). I also had time constraints, so he put together a special itinerary to fit my needs. I've taken photography workshops before, but I learned so much from Alfredo. He gave technical as well as artistic and compositional points, and he was equally instructive in both landscape and street photography. He is patient, knowledgeable, and has a sense of humor. My only regret was that I wish I'd taken his workshop at the beginning of my trip—he had so many tips for places to visit, I wish I had more time to take advantage of them. I definitely can't wait to return and learn more from him.

This workshop was a special gift to myself: a chance to improve my photography in a beautiful environment. Alfredo helped me meet my goals in many ways - his explanations were clear, and he took the time to observe and review my shots. He lives in the area, so we were able to go to small villages and landscape locations that would have been difficult to navigate on our own. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Italy. Mimi

We met Alfredo in Pienza. My husband is a novice photographer and found Alfredo to be very knowledgeable and also a very good teacher. He would explain a concept and then have my husband take several practice shots that helped master the technique and remember it the next day! Our second stop was at a small family owned winery in beautiful tiny village. The building dates back to the 16th century and looks out over the valley. We were treated to several incredible wines that we liked well enough to order.
Then Alfredo drove us off the beaten path, down the dirt road, across the plowed fields to the spot where Russel Crowe stood, in the Gladiator, and looked down the valley at the road to Rome. An incredible afternoon!
