Amazing place, good for short trip by bike with family. We observed a lot of birds and fishes in their natural environments. Magic and peaceful place. You must be here, if You love nature.

the story of Maremma is within this reserve. Don't miss the "rose house" and learn about the efforts to separate the salt water from the normal water

Flamingo reserve, great biodiversity, lovely calm. Unfortunately not so confy with bikes and young kids due to wild nature and lack of directions and trails.

We have spend a pleasant hour in this natural reserve! entry ticket is 12 euro per person, free for kids. we sail 30 minutes along the channel before getting to a view point where you can watch flamingos! After doing many birdwatching trips i havent found it breathless but worth a visit if you are in the area

THis trip in a boat to a large hide allowed us to see Flamingo's Ospreys, Spoonbills, Herons, Cormorants and much more. Really knowledgable guide - italian language needed to make the most of his explanations - but it would have been worth it just to see the birds

The building shown in the photograph, Casa Rosa has 3 excellent computer controlled cameras which enables you to focus in on the birds. It is also possible to take a boat ride through the marsh with plenty of mosquito repellent.

These wetlands are filled with birds of many species and there is a walking path as well as a bird blind for viewing them. The building that houses the individuals who over see the wetlands is historic and lovely. There are resources and videos available. A great day out in the Maremma.

Myself and 3 other family members went here as part of an all-day birding trip (see separate review for Walking in Etruria with Daniele). We did the 2 hour boat tour and saw some great birds. Highlight was viewing a thousand flamingos from one of the blinds. The Maremma area was very different than the area of Tuscany we were staying and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

It's a very nice area and we were amazed by the animals and birds that we saw. From flamingoes to fox which is very rare and special. Definitely recommend to go and explore the beauty of nature (we went with a guided boat tour)

Just came back from a out of season visit to the Riserva Naturale -> even when no boat trips are offered and the museum is closed, it's definitely a worthy trip...

Just take one of the sign-posted itineraries, which will take you around the riserva and offers very good opportunities to explore the flora and fauna... Saw many Flamingos, Airones and of course lots of smaller species, which I am unable to name ;-)

Towards the end I would recommend exiting the itinerary via the pine forest, as it adds a new aspect to the itinerary...
