We visited to find the graves of soldiers from my father's battalion in WW2. Arriving into Cesena by train there were no signs / directions from the town centre. Thankfully Google maps came to the rescue. The cemetery is located in the middle of a sports centre.... it was difficult to find until we realised we needed to walk through a car park and around the playing fields. There were no signs from this direction. It is beautifully kept and using the directory we found the graves we were looking for. Companions of my father who fought with the Queens Regiment (West Surrey). As we made our way back to the station we spotted 2 signs. Both bad been bent or twisted and one was pointing into the bus station!

We used to go there after the lessons at Liceo Scientifico Augusto Righi of Cesena. The Spoon River Anthology was often read while the Springtime was quickly advancing toward the humid heat of the Romagna. Listen Fabrizio De Andre songs was the completion of our crepuscolar afternoon. Recently, I went back to say to myself "war, never again" as we were promising in our group. Same great feeling of peace and the striking equality of the tombs of the soldiers and those of the officers. Bea & Gianni Novelli Geneva, Switzerland
