It may take 30-45 min to get on top (more if you stop and examine different objectives on your way like the water cisterns or the Diana temple), but it really worth the effort as the view is absolutely magnificent.

Really enjoyable hike, with wonderful sights of Cefalú and its shore! We started our hike at 10:00 and ended (come back to the origin) at 12:00 on a hot August 19th. We did a relaxed hiking, stopping regularly for taking pictures, enjoying the different sights, reading the historical information and going to all the possible landmarks. Following advice from other... More

make sure you go in the morning as the sun get really strong from 11ish. a bit scary the walk in some points, but nothing too bad. been with my partner who was carrying our 14 months old baby and that surely made it a bit harder. legs still stiff after 3 days ;) . worth it, great view and... More

We hesitated going up based on other reviews we had read stating its an insanely long 3 hr hike up, i dont know where they get this, its maybe a 40min total walk up, we did it on a very hot day and we were still fine, it is deffinatelly worth the trip, the views from here are breathtaking and... We climbed up la Rocca on a hot August day with our three children. The views are amazing and the different ruins are very interesting. I would have loved some more information about them. Our youngest is three years old and managed to walk right up to the top. Make sure you bring lots of water and try to avoid... More

La Rocca is a nice place for a walk. It's a bit steep, so go in the morning. The view from the top is amazing!

Walked to the top of La Rocca to wonder at the vista of Cefalu and surrounding area. and was fascinated by the historical aspects of it as well as some of the engineering ingenuity.

From down there La Rocca looks difficult to climb. It dominates the Cefalu skyline and its visible from everywhere.. But, if you're a panorama and great views freak like me, you should climb it. There's an entrance fee of 4 eur, and beside that you should have good shoes (no flip flops), hat, sun lotion and water. The hike up... More

We managed to start at 8.30am and I would not want to go much later! Lots of water and good shoes plus a determination to take on the rock. I would recommend going to the very top first and then taking the path down to the temple from this point. It was hard going up the rough track to the... More

As I was booking a snorkelling trip I was advised that it was well worth the "20 minutes" it took to walk up La Rocca when you visited Cefalu. Whilst it took slightly longer to walk the man-made path and more natural "trail" to the top it was well worth the spectacular views you are rewarded with when you reach... More
