I was slow to review this place as I don't like the idea of it becoming touristy but I'm sure the locals could do with the footfall for their businesses. Gorgeous little village overlooking the ocean. The people so friendly. A real authentic Sicilian village. There is a restaurant overlooking the sea...this place is divine! Fresh tasty Sicilian food, no regular menu, new menu written on a chalk board every night. Chef is amazing. Full of locals. We were just lucky enough to find it as there weren't any other tourists there. Just fabulous. Well worth a visit.

We are into our last evening of a two week visit to Sant'Ambrogio. We came to Sicily for the first time keen to experience the life and culture here. We have been welcomed with open arms. There are two restaurants, Saro's Bar/Cafe at the lookout, a small cafe in the piazza and a well priced supermarket. It became our practice to go to the Belvedere (lookout) every evening to watch the sun set and enjoy a beer or wine. We would then either walk up to our little stone bungalow or stay in town for dinner. There is a lovely rocky beach below the village, one side providing deck chairs and umbrellas as well as bar and restaurant, the other s more quiet choice. We have so enjoyed our experience here, it's been everything we wanted and more.

Stayed here for 10 days and loved it. Has three restaurants, so possible to eat out without having to drive anywhere. Also a small mini-market which is open five days a week, mornings and evenings only (so check ahead) - has all the basics. There's also a couple of bars and an off-licence/small wine bar.

Everyone was very friendly. Just be aware, though, that it's the side of a hill, so you may find yourself walking up and down a lot of steps/paths!

A little traditional village a few kms from the town of Cefalu, The start attraction of the village is the resaturant Osteria Bacchus, which is a must visit for its amazing fresh food.

This village is well worth a drive out from Cefalu - only ten minutes away. A couple of nice restaurants and lovely cobbled streets to explore. Very friendly locals and great views over the sea.

Just the place for a quite holiday, but well located for trips out. Benefits from a mini-market and visiting vendors for those self-catering. A couple of really good scenic restaurants. Friendly people and a lot of trouble has been taken to make the place attractive with lots of pots of flowers.

a typical Sicilian village built on a hillside. Narrow windy roads connect the houses. A small public space with a picturesque view down the coast has table and chairs. Wine & beer is available from the shop across the road and the man behind the counter is very accommodating.

BTW: Beer is cheap here.

beautiful tiny village close to Cefalu. Nothing touristy, but great views of the sea and a disproportianate number of excellent restaurants.
