I'm not sure what we were expecting but the whole place seemed quite subdued with not a lot going on.
All the time we were there we didn't see any keepers either taking care of the animals or being available to ask questions.
All of the drinking water for the animals seemed stagnant and was covered in a layer of green stuff which didn't seem right.
Towards the end of our visit we got caught in a downpour. This brought some of the animals to life! Suddenly the kangaroos were chasing around their enclosure and a lot of the birds started bathing and drinking out of the puddles.
I'm not sure whether I should be concerned or whether we were just out of season when the zoo was slowing down.

We were suprised by the size of the park. Many animals, esp. bird-likes. Duration without break, about 2.5 hrs. Worth a visit with young children, also if you are used to the zoo's in NL.

The place is huge, we got out first chance we got (which was after 2 hrs of walking!). The animals are left in dirty enclosures with filthy drinking water. Like someone else said, we saw no staff around taking care of anything. We live on a farm and are used to animal smells, but there's a very big difference between the natural smell of animals and that of poo and dead animals not cleaned for who knows how long. The pelicans especially had a tiny filthy pond with dead fish! It was very hot and the poor animals had to drink the filthy water to survive! In more than one occasion we smelled something dead though we couldn't locate the source. Don't support a business that does not look after their animals!

It's not very easy to spot the signs leading to the park and the entrance looks like somebody's back yard but once inside the park never ends. You will be lead on a path and see all the animals. Many birds but also really exotic animals. Kids had really good time. In the middle of the park there is a playground and a restaurant. I do not know of the background of the park, it feels like this is a private initiative but all the animals it must take a lot of work to mand it all.

Saluti. Parco Gallorose.

This park reminded us of the ikea of tourist attractions - there is no map - you just follow the trail around a intricately laid out park, and we had no idea no long it would take. It seems small when you first go in and wonder "is this it" but it really does go on for ages, and many of the more interesting animals are towards the end. Take plenty of water and keep up the pace. There are also quite random exhibits of collections - for example, drinks cans, and old italian posters, and farm equipment. Some were quite interesting but without any other language explanations it was hard to understand the connection with the animal park, to be honest.

Also some of the enclosures were very small and lacked any kind of stimulation or interest for the animals which we found a little sad.

All that said, our 5 year old son really enjoyed his time in the park and would rate it as one of the highlights of his holiday.

Parco Gallorose.

The place as a such is very nice and you can spend there all day. BUT, the animals are treated in a bad way. They have very tiny space where to live, super dirty and you could see how they were happy when they saw someone. Normally, when you visit place like this, you see lot of "stuff" people around. In 2 hours (after that we gave up, as we did not like the way how animals live) we did not meet anyone who is in charge of the place.

As I said in the beginning, if they would clean it and took care of the animals more, it would be lovely place to go.

We visited the park during a family holiday to Italy, expected a fairly small little park but oh boy we were wrong the place is massive!! The Italians have slightly more dubious expectations of how animals should be kept compared to the UK so some of the enclosures were a little upsetting to see and I am not confident all the animals were as well looked after as they could have been so bear this in mind it certainly makes you appreciate the quality of our zoos. Take a picnic as the cafe is awful but none of the above will take anything away from the fact that this place is awesome you will see animals you will never stand a chance of seeing in the uk, the staff are very friendly and helpful and its a really cheap family day out, what we expected would take an hour or so to get around took all day and in the 40 degree heat there was plenty of lovely shade!! Free car parking and no crowds really made this a lovely day, shame there wasn't a gift shop though!!

If you are in the nearby with children you must go. It is a very educational experience for them: they can see many animals coming from all the world. The tour lasts from two hours up to the whole day. Picnic area and bar with a little playground in the middle of the tour. The path is all shadowed so it is good also in the summer (anyway spring and autumn are the best seasons). The maintenance level could be better but however nice.

Not sure what we had got into during first few minutes but persevered and was actually surprised by amount of animals we saw and that it took 2 hours to complete. Animals don't have a great amount of space though.

Visited the parc in spring. It was a really calm day which made it really nice and relaxing. They have many animals and birds and also the flora is nice to see. I'm sure this is a great place to visit in summer time because you have lots of shadow. The restaurant wasn't open, but you could order warm meals at the bar, which were good. Only downside to me is that the track is pointed out, you can't just walk where you want, you have to follow the track.
