Aka Palazzo Ducale. Next to (and sharing a ticket with) the Rocca del Leone fortress that you do have listed, but they need to be referenced separately; they are two very different attractions.

The rooms are not spectacular, but here are various exhibitions, so it is quite interesting. We have seen a lot of objects from the Etruscan era, so we remembered the lessons of history.

The Palace has some beautiful frescoes. All the exhibits are explained in English. The walkway to the Fortress is really neat. Walking around the Fortress will give you some incredible views of Lake Trasimeno! Well worth a visit.

From the narrow walkways, towers and fab views, what's not to like. Walkable distance for kids (4-5 yo). There is even a wall where kids get to scribble with chalks :)

This is the route to the castle ramparts though a long, narrow, covered passage which is very unusual. The Palace is not that impressive apart from its ceilings and when we visited there was an abstract art exhibition which wouldn’t be to everybody’s liking.

The frescoes tell the story of the life and exploits of Ascanio della Corgna who was an admired soldier in the 1500's , his uncle was Pope Julius 111. This leads to the enclosed walkway up to the Fortress . It was their private home

The Palazzo is a beautiful building. Well curated with fine painted panels. The main purpose of this visit was to share the Picasso exhibition with some friends that were visiting. We had already visited and had been impressed with the exhibition earlier in August with...More

Lots of very interesting artifacts found locally and preserved in the museum for us to see and wonder at. The most highly decorated rooms I think I've ever seen in what was essentially a private home to the Della Corgna family.

From the fortress you get into the palace via a walled passage, where you can visit the rooms staring at amazing restored "affreschi", realised and mastered by Pomarancio (great local artist whose works are well spread in the area: Città della Pieve, Orvieto) and his...More

There is a train from Perugia to Castiglione del Lago but I don't know the schedule. You would have about a 20 minute walk from the station to the village.
