I didn’t expect such a nice centrepiece to this town. As you walk up through what would have been the inner town, fantastic shops and an historical church with a surprising interior abound. The inners of the citadel have some ruins but also an outdoor...More

Even in the rain we had a great time walking round the rampant and climbing the towers. Followed by lunch in one of the many restaurants

It is very rare that you are able to walk around the ramparts of a complete castle, particularly one of this size. An incredible experience with sensational views particularly from the main tower

Castigliano del Lago is a wonderful little medieval city with restaurants, shops and the Rocca (Fort) del Leone is a gem. Visiting the fort includes a walk through a museum and then into well preserved fort with truly beautiful views of Lake Trasimeno.
