Lively place to sit and drink wine. They offer great wine tastings! I chose the reserve tasting with a brunch, which was an amazing selection of cured meats and cheeses. The cellar is also located here for the winery.
Andrea and Massimo are wonderful, knowledgeable, and provide great entertainment and conversation! Massimo even has his own truffle cookbook that he will gladly sign for you.
My friend and I visited this wine bar every day, usually multiple times each day of our three day stay here.
I purchased some fresh olive oil, that was only three days old at the time, and it was amazing!

When walking thru town, and wondering where this place is, you need just look for the yellow building and you found it.
My daughter and I came here to try some wines. They have a self serve wine machine that pours wine into your glass after you buy a debit card of sorts and plug it into the machine. Now, i wasn't really a fan of that kind of wine pouring, but the people here were very friendly. And when the dispenser refused to work correctly, they took our glass and got the job done.
Walked down to the cellar and walked past all of the barrells, but didn't get a chance to sit at a tasting table. It looked like it could have been fun. Wish I had read the last tripadvisor before coming here.

Wonderful wine store in Castellina in Chianti. Incredible winemaker Tommasso Bojola very talented . My favorite wines are the Chianti Riserva , Rose' which taste better then any French Rose' i have tasted and the crisp white Rugiada. The store has wonderful merchandise to purchase at every price point.

We went here as part of a biking tour of Tuscan wineries. This is Very nice wine tasting location. The entire facility is gorgeous. The town is beautiful. Looks like it would be a very nice place to stay.

Generally, you can't just turn up at a winery in Chianti and expect to do a tasting (especially a free one !) La Castellina have their winery on the main road, but tasting is in the old centre (no cars). This tasting/sales venue with a restaurant adjacent has automated wine dispensing machines from which you can obtain a small taste, or larger servings (all for a price debited from a card you purchase at the reception). It's not cheap (0.8-1.5 EUR for a mouthful) but there are proper glasses provided and it's self serve. The staff here were very friendly (good English for us with poor Italian) and most helpful in providing information about the wines and showing us how to use the machines. There's two small tasting areas on floors below the shop which are very nice but could become crowded (no-one else was there when we tasted). They have the usual Chianti Classicos (which we aren't great fans of, even the Riserva at EUR26) but try the Maremma DOC, a shiraz/sangiovese blend which is great and more affordable. They also had a nice white Rugiada which is mostly chardonnay and was pretty cheap at about EUR 8. They also have olive oil tastings and sales, but we didn't try this. If you can snag a car park on the south west side of main road through Castellina, there is a fantastic view. Take the mountain road (SR429) back to the Siena-Firenze autostrada ; it's a great drive. You can even get a photo with a statue of the famed black chook of Chainti Classico just as the point where the road leaves Castellina !!
