This is the place to stay when visiting Tuscany. It’s a quiet retreat in the center of Tuscany that is your home base convenient for daily trips to various towns. Charming accommodations and very clean. One of the best things is the owner, Ulrike - a fabulous, generous, knowledgeable and big hearted woman who we cannot say enough about. Be sure to enjoy a few meals with her, her cooking is fantastic. We ate in many restaurants during our 10 day stay but nothing compared to the meals at Poderi Val Verde. We participated in the cooking class and attended a dinner made by others taking the cooking class offered, eating with the other guests. It was wonderful to meet people from other countries and share stories. Ulrike’s son, Fabian, also charming, gives archery lessons on the property for all ages. This place is delightful! Thank you Urike and Fabian-we miss you already!

We saw this on Trip advisor and thought we would like something different to do in Chianti,we certainly weren't disappointed. We have held a bow before but we are novices. Fabian, the owner, is a very knowledgeable person who helps you develop your skill no matter what level you start at.We had a very enjoyable morning in his company and maybe in the future we would return and stay on site in the accommodation. What makes this a special experience is Fabian the owner. Thankyou.

We had an amazing time with Fabian, so much fun that we decided to come back the next day to do the parcour. My boyfriend was inexperienced but with the training of Fabian he almost won from me. The 3D archery course is amazing, its in the middle of nature and that makes it very challenging and fun. Perfect for all ages :) Fabian really pays attention to detail! Loved it!

Our family of two teens 14 , 16 and my self and husband drove from Rome to Bologna. We planned mainly city stays but i really wanted to give the family, particularly the teens an experience of being in the country side that would appeal to them. Unfortunately we had already booked all our accomodation for Bologna as a base for 6 nights , so when i found this place and read all about it and later visited we were really disappointed not to be able to stay for a couple of nights! I had been looking for some interesting things to do while in Italy and after a reference to archery was made in someones Airbnb page, i looked up Archery in Italy and i found these guys . It happened to be more or less on our way to Bologna, about 3 hours out of Rome, and the timing worked out for a rest and eat. It did end up quite a long day, but was so worth it! Ulrike and Fabian have had this farm for about 20 years.I organized over email and a couple of phone calls with Ulrike a day or so before if we could come and just have beginner archery lessons . They were very flexible to fit us in. As our GPS wasnt the best, we didnt take the quickest route but to our delight, as is sometimes the case travelling, found the 'road less travelled' , what greeted us was an incredible panoramic and hilly but scenic drive off A1 toward Castellina in Chianti. When we arrived it started to rain, but it didnt dampen our spirits,as the terrain was so picturesque among the hills and vineyards, with trees starting to blossom. Actually ti was refreshing to get out of the car and into the damp pure air! We can imagine later in the season it would be even more stunning. Fabian and Ulrike greeted us warmly , they were entirely flexible whether we wanted to eat first or have our lesson. We were all keen to have our lesson in spite of the rain. Fabian showed us the professional archery gear including our beginners bows. He is a good teacher, and our lesson was fun, but it went way too fast! All around the house, there were sheep, chicken, goose, duck, dogs and numerous cats which we loved.. the girls were so happy to see them as they missed their own pets at home.. Great to see teens so involved and happy. We were then welcomed inside their homely home to dry off a little in front of the crackling fire, with Ulrike in her kitchen preparing pasta with Pesto and Fritatta , chatting to us like friends. We sat and shared the delicious meal together with Table wine, bread to mop up lots of their own made olive oil and they were kind enough to open some Vin Santo to dip our Cantuccini into for a little treat after the meal. Ulrike, I am sad that i completely forgot to visit your farmhouse shop stocked with your other homemade goodies! Both Ulrike and Fabian her son are such wonderful, warm, hospitable hosts who love to share their knowledge and experiences. We all highly recommend this place and them, even as a stop, if you cant stay.. If we were to be in this area again, we would come and stay for sure . We will always remember our visit with you both, hugs from Michelle, Grant, Ines and Belen

If you're looking to get outside and do something different while in Chianti, this is it. The 3D archery course was a great way to enjoy the beautiful weather and walk through the countryside. With the thorough instruction provided, learning is easy and fun from the beginning. You'll find yourself constantly wanting to improve and stay on the courses longer. With 72 total targets on the property, you have plenty of time to do that.
