We were taken here on a group holiday and I nearly opted out. So so glad I did not. For a start the winery is in a beautiful setting and the staff are helpful and enthusiastic. We learnt the history of the family who own it, their traditional and organic methods of cultivation. The tour of the cellars was amazing, great for photos but awesome in terms of the volume of priceless wines in store there. We were also able to peep through the windows and see the bunches of white grapes drying naturally in readiness for the magic process of turning them into Vin Santo S. We visited without a tour reservation and enjoyed a quick tasting (they may have provided a tour on demand, we did not ask). We stopped in for a quick tasting after reading up on the winery and were glad we did. It's not as complementary as some; I don't believe they do tours. But the tasting was quite nice. And the panoramic views were straight from a Tuscan postcard. We sampled everything and left with a bottle of I Sodi di San Niccolò, their special blend. It's different than all the Chianti, which theirs is also very good. We look forward to finding them in the US!…

The winery is situated in the main tourist shopping area. You will find all the wines to taste, but you do have to pay for the experience. Depending on the time of year you will find that the amount of help or discussion about the wines vary. But, still a lovely way to pass the time. You can wander downstairs and see the large vats of wine, but there is not a guided tour. …
