- Kathy W2 contributionsAbsolutely wonderful in every way!Arriving at the farm we were immediately greeted by peacocks, peahens and the babies, ducks, roosters and chickens, a cat, a dog, fabulous views, perfectly ripe sangiovese grapes, a storybook ancient home, countless olive trees, rosemary bushes everywhere, and, of course, our wonderful host, Silvano! His life history is so interesting (a formet veterinarian), and he absolutely LOVES his life now producing fabulous organic wines, olive oil, honey, truffle oil, balsamic vinegar, etc. He and his wife live in a very beautiful part of Chianti (I'm not sure there is any part of Chianti that isn't beautiful, but this was exceptional!). We were a small group of 8 people and were treated to his tour of the grounds and a spectacular lunch, complete with a tasting of all the wines produced on this property, honey from his hives, truffle oil, balsamic vinegar and olive oil. It was one of the best highlights of our entire trip to Italy!Visited September 2023Traveled with friendsWritten September 29, 2023
- ricardo232016Springfield, Missouri70 contributionsWonderful Authentic ExperienceWe visited in September. 2023 . This is a beautiful and outstanding farm and winery. We had a wonderful lunch prepared by the wife (owner) preceded by a tour of the property and the cellars by the owner.Silvano. He is a former veterinarian who bought this property from the Catholic Church 30 years ago. He.was very knowledgeable and friendly. The owner’s son, Ricardo did our wine tasting during our lunch. He was very knowledgeable and fun as well. The lunch was outstanding. The wines were wonderful. The balsamic was remarkable .We shipped some of both home.. Highly recommend this for a great authentic experience.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 14, 2023
- fidelmaLiverpool, United Kingdom6 contributionsWhat a hidden gemOur tour guide brought us here and are we glad he did. A welcoming host took us through how he produces his sulphate free wine, aged balsamic, olive oil honey and lavender it was clear the production was based in love as well as commerce. Then we were treated to a fantastic lunch paired with their amazing products including white truffle. Don’t miss this experience you will never forget it!Visited November 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 11, 2023
- stephie18Philadelphia, Pennsylvania37 contributionsMy favorite part of Florence visitMy husband, son (21) and I went to Tenuta Casanova today and had the absolute best experience. The owner, Silvano, gave us a short tour of the vineyard and where the balsamic is aged. Then we had a home cooked lunch - made by his wife - while we tasted five different wines. The food was unbelievable and the wines were fantastic. We have been to Sonoma and Napa in California and this wine tasting and food paring blew those visits out of the water. We wanted to do a cooking class but it wasn’t offered, as it’s the winter. But we didn’t miss out because the lunch and wine pairing was so spectacular. This is a MUST do if visiting Florence or any of the surrounding towns in Tuscany.Visited February 2024Traveled with familyWritten February 24, 2024
- Sam H1 contributionAmazing experience at an incredible farmThe wine and food were incredible. We learned a lot about the history of the vineyard and Leda was very nice and friendly. She did a great job explaining the foods and flavors we were enjoying. If you can find time to make the trip I highly recommend.Visited May 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 23, 2024
- Nikki W3 contributionsSpectacular winery and lunch - Do not miss thisThis winery is spectacular and should be a 1st stop for anyone traveling through Tuscany. The lunch and wine were amazing as well as the tour of the property but the owners, Silvano and Rita and their son, are what really make it special. Make sure to make reservations to visit this winery and have lunch.Visited May 2024Traveled on businessWritten May 30, 2024
- Lora W2 contributionsBeautiful tour followed by lunch with familyThe most beautiful winery and farm in Tuscany. My family of 4 including 2 teenagers enjoyed learning about this beautiful family run farm and the delicious olive oil, balsamic and wine produced here. Everyone was warm and welcoming - like having Sunday lunch with your familia. Grazie!Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 1, 2024

The owners and staff are so lovely. They had the most adorable baby peacocks when we visited as well. Definitely add this to your Chianti itinerary, you won’t regret it.Visited June 2024Traveled with friendsWritten June 9, 2024

The food turned out amazing and I cannot thank Ricardo and his Mom Rita for the fun and learnings. To Rita’s husband, the delight in learning the history of the farm and I can see the passion you all share for it. What a treat to learn and enjoy your space and our new friends from Australia who were in our class❤️ What an amazing experience ❤️ #chefskissVisited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 13, 2024
- Laura T2 contributionsTenuta Casanova - 10+ for experience in TuscanyWow does not describe the wonderful experience my husband and I had at Tenuta Casanova. Riccardo and his Mother Rita were exceptional hosts, considerate and fun! We had a cooking class followed by the farm tour and the lunch which we prepared in the morning. All tastings and wine experiences were amazing and delicious. Highly recommend visit to Tenuta Casanova and very very grateful we discovered them!Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 26, 2024

Tenuta Casanova will forever hold a special place in my and my (now) fiancé's heart given Ricardo, Rita and Silvano helped me organise a special proposal in their vineyards, followed by an elegant multi-course lunch with matching wines. The food was delicious (one of the best, if not the best, meal we had in two weeks touring Italy) and the wines brilliantly matched. We particularly enjoyed their sparkling white wine appropriately named Easy to Fall in Love. Whilst not on the cheaper side all of the organic wines and produce (balsamic vinegar, olive oil etc) are clearly made with great care and it reflects with excellent results. Thanks Ricardo, Rita and Silvano!

Silvano and his staff were the perfect hosts. His knowledge about wine and balsamic vinegar far exceeded any expectations we had. This is a must for wine lovers of all ages! ❤️❤️

Had the absolute best experience at Tenuta Casanova. Riccardo was fabulous and the lunch tasting was a highlight of our trip. Riccardo took us around the family’s beautiful property, patiently letting our 11 month old daughter look at all of their animals. After a short tour, we sat down for a private lunch tasting with incredible views and the most delicious food — bruschetta, traditional Tuscan salad, ham, fresh mozzarella, lasagna, cheeses and more. They also made a special pasta for our daughter. We tried some of the best wines we had during our trip to Tuscany. Can’t wait to return! Grazie Mille Riccardo!

We had a tour of the cellar and a lunch with paired wines. I have had several wine lunches in France before but this is the best by a mile!! You really feel welcome and the lunch is a very enjoyable experience in a great setting. The wines, balsamic and olive oil that is produced here is exceptional. I made several purchases and can’t wait to try them when I get home. If you are thinking of doing a lunch with paired wines give this a try you won’t be disappointed.

Tenuta Casanova was beyond the finest of wineries that we have visited in Italy. The expertise that they have with wine and food is incredible!!! The beauty of the estate is beyond compare. We will be back. The balsamic vinaigrette that is 30 years old is a taste we will never forget!!

We visited Tenuta Casanova on the recommendation of our friends for our 25th Wedding Anniversary.
We had the privilege of having the owner, Silvano, guide us through a tour of his private cellars and sharing his passion for not only the organic wine he produces but we also sampled his aged balsamic vinegar and unbelievable extra virgin olive oil.
We enjoyed the most amazing lunch in the olive grove where Silvano paired his excellent wines with the most exquisite food made by his family in his home.
We highly recommend a visit to this unique, organic Vineyard - it’s a once in a lifetime experience!

We visited 4 vineyards in Tuscany. This family seems to be the most organized and prepared for English speaking visitors. The balsamics and olive oil are to die for, the shaded Al fresco lunch among the olive trees was perfect, and of course we ended up buying some of their Merlot-centric wines. It was a lovely day and certainly one of the highlights of our tour of northern Italy.

Casanova was an amazing place and experience. This is a must do if you love wine and food. We had an amazing view on the deck while being served a several course homemade Italian meal with wine pairings from the vineyard. The staff take extra time to explain all the wines and food which are all amazing and top notch. The tour prior to lunch was interesting and full of history of the land going back to being owned by the Vatican previously. Owners were on site working along side staff to provide excellent service to everyone. Also love that the family has a philanthropic organization that helps children and villages Africa. We will be back the next time we are in the Tuscany area.

Hi Dkanter59,
We are going to Tuscany in September and as part of our package, a cooking class at Tenuta Casanova is included. The value our agent claims is $300. Can you confirm?

Can anyone tell me the range of prices for the wine? Also, do they only have reds, or are there some whites?
Written June 15, 2017
Pretty expensive, as all decent organic is, but I don’t have exact price. Consult them online.
