We were part of a close-knit group that visited Tenuta Casanova and got to spend a morning and lunch with Rita and Silvano. We were welcomed warmly and made to feel at home--down to seeing the recently killed boar that I'm sure would become one of Rita's fabulous ragouts. We enjoyed so much -- sorry we didn't get to have a... Spent an afternoon visiting this beautiful winery with my family of six. Franchesca gave a fabulous tour of the cellar highlighting the olive oil and balsamic vinegar as well as the wonderful wine! She was so informative and enthusiastic. This is a family owned winery and she was quite proud of the products. We were served a full tasting of... More

4 friends came here not knowing what to expect and we all loved the tour, the story from Silvano, the food, the wine, the olive oil, and the uniquely wonderful balsamic on ice cream. We had the "light" lunch after the tour and were treated to course after course of endless delicious food and wine. This stop made our day... More

Excellent way to spend a day. We were too late to book a cooking class w Rita but the amazing staff st Casanova booked a lunch reservation for us the following day. We went back and had the most amazing experience. Sylvano, the owner, gave us a private tour of the cellar full of aromas of vinegar and olive oil... More

It wasn't love at first sight, to be honest. We felt we were stuck in a prototypical "sales funnel" with mentions of the Pope, their charity in Africa, sort American celebrity they know, how they have a deal with FedEx to ship all over the world,... " I don't care about any of that when I'm tasting wine. Plus, the... More

We were last here in 2011 when Silvano just started up. Out was great to return after all this time, and experience the vineyard's atmosphere, friendly and enthusiastic hosts. We were primarily looked after by a lady called Lavinia, who was very knowledgable and pleasant. Silvano was always available and checking on us, we had a good conversation at the... More

My 2 sons and I visited Tenuta Casanova just hours after arriving in Tuscany from New York and London. Silvano could not have more gracious and engaging. Rita was delightful as well, and her lasagna was the best I ever had. We ordered some of each wine that we were served at lunch, and 2 balsamic vinegars. They arrived a... More

We were gifted a free lunch and guided tour here after purchasing two paintings in Castellina. Drove straight through the lovely countryside and were welcomed by slightly non plussed staff who were evidently not expecting us. However, in typical Italian fashion, a program was made for us, we were made to feel welcome and enjoyed a very interesting afternoon. First... More

We hired a guide to take a tour of the Chianti region. He suggested Tenuta Casanova and we are really glad he took us there. The owner, a very interesting and passionate gentleman, took time to give us a tour of his property. He explained his life and his choice to take care of the farm. He gave us a... More
