The entire experience with the Tenuta Casanova family was incredible, and was the highlight of our honeymoon in Italy. To start, we weren’t able to get a taxi to drive us approx. 1 hour from Florence to the farm/winery since there was a surprise taxi strike. My husband called and Silvano called his friend who’s in Florence to come pick us up at our hotel! The friend even coordinated with his brother to pick us up at the end of the day which was so incredibly kind. Once at the beautiful farm, we found ourselves greeted by Ricardo who showed us their two large female pigs and their 6 new piglets. He gave us a quick tour and then took us inside to meet his mother, Rita who taught us to make the most delicious foods. We made fresh bruschetta, three types of focaccia, tagliatelle, lasagna, peppers, and tiramisu for dessert. They were all great teachers and patiently taught us their technique, mixed with fun stories about their recent trip to the US. After we finished preparing the food, Ricardo took us on a tour of the winery which was lovely. It’s truly a beautiful place. We sampled the wines, award winning olive oil and enjoyed 30 year aged balsamic vinegar on gelato. Everything was incredible such that we ordered a case of wine and olive oil back to the US. The day was spectacular and we would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone able to make the trip.

We had heard from friends that praised Tenuta Casanova and wanted to see for ourselves. We couldn't have been more impressed. Silvano gladly accepted our reservation for a gourmet dinner and tour. By chance, we were the only family there that evening and were treated that morning, sadly, his resident peacock had lost his mate d to an amazing experience. We joined Silvano while he fed the animals and met his beloved cat who was grazing amidst the olive trees. He explained the history of the vineyard and landscape with enthusiasm as if he were sharing it for the first time. Sadly, that morning his resident peacock had lost its mate to a fox and was expressing his mourning on the roof above where we were dining. His love for his animals was apparent and touching. Our meal arrived in courses, each one exceeding the next. Riccardo and his sister served the meal and were open to our questions. He was keen to describe the dessert beforehand, which was gelato with a drizzle of 25 yr old balsamic. The more he described it the more our anticipation grew. As with life, a comic moment interrupted the planned proceedings. The gelato did, indeed, arrive but the balsamic was missing. Since Riccardo disappeared, we were left to stare at the gelato with some confusion and disappointment. Just as we lifted our spoons, we glimpsed Riccardo racing across the lawn waving his arms madly. In his hand was the much-anticipated balsamic. We laughed heartily together at the spectacle. It goes without saying that the balsamic lived up to the hype. Afterwards, we met with Silvano who offered us the option to ship products home to the States. This process was very congenial with no hard sell. The product did indeed arrive intact and as scheduled once we were home. Kudos to Francesca who labored behind the scenes to make this delicious meal. On our next trip to Italy, Tenuta Casanova will be one of our top destinations. Our sincere thanks and gratitude. Tenuta Casanova will forever hold a special place in my and my (now) fiancé's heart given Ricardo, Rita and Silvano helped me organise a special proposal in their vineyards, followed by an elegant multi-course lunch with matching wines. The food was delicious (one of the best, if not the best, meal we had in two weeks touring Italy) and the wines brilliantly matched. We particularly enjoyed their sparkling white wine appropriately named Easy to Fall in Love. Whilst not on the cheaper side all of the organic wines and produce (balsamic vinegar, olive oil etc) are clearly made with great care and it reflects with excellent results. Thanks Ricardo, Rita and Silvano!

My wife and I visited the winery in October 2019 and fell in love with Silvano's wines! We were so impressed with his passion and knowledge to say nothing about how great his wine and other products are. We are planning to return if COVID permits in the Spring.
We had an incredible "virtual tasting" yesterday and it was like being at Tenuta Casanova not on your computer monitor. Silvano shipped everything and we spent almost 2 hrs with him and Rita and one of our daughter's and son-in-law enjoying his wine to the fullest. Silvano made us feel like we were at the winery. We provided the pairings according to what Silvano suggested and truly had a wonderful time. It was an amazing afternoon in these crazy times of COVID. This is a must for everyone to do. We are also impressed by Silvano and Rita's humanitarian intrests, they are beautiful people! My wife and daughter and our other daughter's are going to try a "virtual cooking experience" with Rita next. I can only say Grazie Mile to you for this!

Silvano and his staff were the perfect hosts. His knowledge about wine and balsamic vinegar far exceeded any expectations we had. The tour was wonderful, the tasting and food pairings were amazing and Rita’s lasagna was to die for! Next visit I want to take a cooking class! The scenery is spectacular! This is a must for wine lovers of all ages! ❤️❤️

We had a tour of the cellar and a lunch with paired wines. I have had several wine lunches in France before but this is the best by a mile!! You really feel welcome and the lunch is a very enjoyable experience in a great setting. The wines, balsamic and olive oil that is produced here is exceptional. I made several purchases and can’t wait to try them when I get home. If you are thinking of doing a lunch with paired wines give this a try you won’t be disappointed.

Casanova was an amazing place and experience. This is a must do if you love wine and food. We had an amazing view on the deck while being served a several course homemade Italian meal with wine pairings from the vineyard. The staff take extra time to explain all the wines and food which are all amazing and top notch. The tour prior to lunch was interesting and full of history of the land going back to being owned by the Vatican previously. Owners were on site working along side staff to provide excellent service to everyone. Also love that the family has a philanthropic organization that helps children and villages Africa. We will be back the next time we are in the Tuscany area.

This was our favorite part of our whole Italy trip! My husband would have previously said that he didn't like wine but after this, he was hooked. The family did such a good job showing us the property and sharing the history and being amazing hosts. We ordered wine and other goods to have shipped back to our house & they were delivered in less than 2 weeks.
We can't recommend this enough!

Second time we are here. The food is still great and so are, of course, the wine! The dincanto of 2012 we bought during our visit in 2018 was maybe one of the best wine I ever tasted!! But the 2007 vintage we tasted this time was pure heaven. I am so glad to be the proud owner of a magnum bottle of this vintage (which is not available anymore atm)

Our visit to Tenuta Casanova was an afternoon delight. This was my favorite overall food/wine experience in Tuscany. This farming family & their associates were so knowledgeable about their lifestyle & products. The owner's aspiring winemaker son Ricardo is a gentleman & a scholar. The grounds offer an intoxicating & romantic atmosphere. The food was quite delicious & paired so thoughtfully to boast the full flavor of the oil, honey, truffles & wine. Highly recommend this Tuscan experience in the heart of Chianti Classico.
