Local museum with a good view from the roof, and a good way to pass a day in town, as the entire city center is not that big.

My wife, my teenage daughter and I visited this museum not really expecting much but were very pleasantly surprised. The building (the main part of the castle from which the town gets its name) has been quite recently, and very attractively, restored. The exhibits are nicely displayed and the quantity of them is not overwhelming. You get a great insight into the Etruscans who used to live in the area. The staff are very friendly and there is a free iPad which you can borrow to help with your tour. The real surprises are higher up the tower however. The displays about the local football team's prowess are rather sweet - whether you love 'the beautiful game' or not! Best of all - and worth the modest admission price alone - are the views from the top of the tower(s). The vistas over the town and, in particular, down to the valley of endless vineyards, is/are breathtaking. You can't get right to the top of the tower except by stairs (which are several gentle flights and not too arduous - there are photos of a bride having done so in stilettos!) but there is a lift which gets you fairly high up the building. A well run little attraction (rather secret - it is in the town square up the steps behind the main church) - which is well worth a visit - if only to take in those views!…
