Excellent tour. Danila my historian tour guide did a great job explaining the Battle for Monte Cassino. She is very knowledgeable and tailored the one day tour to convey as much information as possible. She researched the history of a family member who was wounded in the fighting and traced the steps of his units movements. Danila is very personable and interesting. It was a great experience and a great day. Grazia Danila!

Dear Bill, thanks for your wonderful review. The story of your Father-in- Law as the story of any T-Patcher should be known by everyone. It was my pleasure and honor to follow the footsteps of your father-in-law. I have been to Texas and had access to documents and war diaries from the Capitol Archive and the Museum in Camp Mabry in Austin TX, that are very useful for my research. People should be aware of what the soldiers endured during the Italian campaign. To honor valor and sacrifice the Texans should remember the assault to the Rapido as they remember the Alamo. The Rapido should be remembered as long as Texans don a military uniform - indeed, as long as there is a Texas.

My partner & I contacted Danila & her communication has been excellent with us from the start, we have just finished our full day tour with her & it was worth every penny! Her depth of knowledge about all the battles & the units that took part on either side is amazing & I particularly enjoyed going to Sam Pietro Infine to see the ruins & the war cemetery, which was quite a sobering visit...

Dear Tracy, It was an amazing experience to meet you and Mike, a serving member of the Royal Scots. I appreciate the fact he came to Cassino to pay respect to the fallen soldiers and particularly the 6th Black Watch. It was amazing to personalize the tour in the footsteps of the 6th Black Watch from the moment they arrive in front line in Cassino to the advance to the Liri valley. Thanks to the regimental diary, I was able to find out the location of the headquarter used by the soldiers still in good condition. It was an emotional day. I wish all the best to you and Mike. Enjoy your vacation in Italy.

Danila met us on the way and we were able to hear a thorough explanation of the context for Monte Cassino and the Italian campaign. We had two teenagers wth us who have lowish attention spans, but they were fascinated by the tour and came away inspired to understand more about forgotten history. The monastery is a beautiful and tranquil place with the most incredible library of ancient manuscripts. I had not appreciated how important it was to the Benedictine order. I could not recommend Danila more highly. She is charming, thoughtful and enthusiastic. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon

Thanks for the awesome review, Charles! I really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with others. It’s always nice to have good feedback but I am so delighted that your son and daughter were inspired by my words. Please, tell them to contact me whenever they want, I am completely at disposal for any further information they may want. Send my best regards to Lulu and the children. Hoping to see you again. Ciao Danila

Passing through Cassino on our way to Northern Italy, we decided to book a tour with Danila (who speaks excellent English) so as to explore one of WW2’s most famous battlefields. Needless to say, it was incredible. Most remarkable of all was the fact that Danila managed to construct a holistic and interesting tour regardless of our time constrictions. From the Rapido river to the Cassino Abbey itself, our experience was defined by beautiful sights accompanied by exciting anecdotes. These Danila seemed to be a true expert on, constantly providing gripping insights into the testimonies of the numerous veterans she had taken on tour. It is also important to note that she is willing to personalise tours based on one’s interests and requests. On a final note, Danila was of incredible character. Supremely bright, passionate and easy-going, learning alongside her was an absolute pleasure. When booking a tour of Cassino, there really is no better choice than Danila Bracaglia’s Cassino Battlefield Tours!

My review merely adds one more to the exceptional reviews written by hundreds of people who have been lucky enough to experience a tour with Danila. Not one of those hundreds have rated her tours as even Average---as of August 2020, 99% rated her tour as Excellent and 1% as Very Good!! But, just so you know, I have known her for years, have toured with her, and have recommended her to numerous friends. Danila's love and knowledge of the history, food and wine of the area known as Ciocaria are unparalleled. After you have fought the crowds (after Covid) in Tuscany, find the real Italy and the unmatched food, wine and ancient-to-modern history (including the experiences of World War II) with Dr. Danila Bracaglia. Then you can add your Excellent rating on Trip Advisor.
