About
The Museo Civico is situated in the ancient convent of Santa Croce. It is divided in two sections: the Pinacoteca that exposes a precious series of paintings, and the Gipsoteca Leonardo Bistolfi, one of the few Italian collections able to illustrate the creative of a sculptor in his completeness.

Museum divided into 3 sections: civic museum, Bistolfi plaster cast gallery and permanent exhibition dedicated to Carlo Vidua.
If the visit to the museum goes by rather quickly, the plaster cast gallery, in my humble opinion, is the most interesting part.
It collects over 170 works by Leonardo Bistolfi (1859-1933), a renowned sculptor who was responsible for various valuable monuments and funerary works.

I went back to visit the museum with friends, there was extraordinary evening opening for the pink night occasion. On the first floor very nice with works by Pier Francesco Guala, an important 18th century painter from Casalese. Guglielmo Caccia called the Moncalvo and his daughter. Flemish and contemporary painters on the divisionism of Angelo Morbelli. On the ground floor we find the gipsoteca of Bistolfi great important artist early 900. And a room with the collection of objects found in the Exploration Trips of Carlo Vidua, Traveler and Archaeologist, would have played an important role at the birth of the Egyptian Museum. The external cloister at the entrance is all frescoed by Guglielmo Caccia called Moncalvo early '600. To see.

I am referring only to the space dedicated to Bistolfi, which was my destination.
Exhibition space absolutely not up to the level of the works present.  The chalks are lost against the backdrop of yellow walls.
The works are bundled in a continuum stuck, breathless. It dominates over everything an aesthetically old, heavy and oppressive light fixture. You basically can't photograph details of some bodies without including a foreign technical element in the frame.
The set-up should be designed from scratch and redone everything.
That's too bad.

The lady guardian could be more kind with kids, instead of telling them off as criminals for playing around, in a completely empty outside area.
