It was built in the 12th century, and reconstructed in the 17th, which is mostly what you see today. The altar piece was the most memorable part of the quick visit. The vestibule now houses some modern art.

I was so struck with the contemporary front space that has been added to this historic place of worship. The combination of the traditional -- and gorgeous -- main part of the structure with the modern and light-filled front is just striking.

Was able to tour this church it was absolutely beautiful the amount of history they might have a heart it was very clean and well taken care of would recommend for anybody to stop through and visit.

We did a random side trip to this barren city of Casale and found this magnificent Medieval cathedral. This town is more than difficult to navigate but this cathedral exudes the 1100's and numerous side chapels. Beware that it is closed from 12-3.
