About
Elba's Aquarium is a private structure, created and run without obtaining or asking for any public funding. Unable therefore to measure ourselves up against other big structures for size or spectacles offered, we have chosen a more original, singular, intimate formula. Our tanks, alternating in form and size, are set up with natural and artificial materials which attempt to reproduce as closely as possible the typical habitats of the various species, and the variety of the species themselves offers a unique panorama of the incredible biodiversity of the Island of Elba and the Tuscan archipelago.

During our holiday we had a couple of rainy days... but one of them we went to the Acquarius and it was an exciting experience, especially for the youngest of our child!

My three year old kid was absolutely delighted with the aquarium - in fact, she loved it better than anything else on Elba.
Advertised as the largest Italian aquarium after Genoa, in fact this is a rather unpretentious facility located in the basement of the Marina-2 hotel. A grown-up will probably see all there is to see in 20 minutes; but for a small kid its a whole new world of Mediterranean sea life. The exist shop makes the visit even more memorable...
Be prepared that all labels are only in Italian and German (ok, the names are also in Latin, but that did not help me too much). Another thing to be aware of - the hotel's bar and restaurant at the top of the aquarium has a stunning view of the Marina di Campo harbor - but for some bizarre reason does not serve meals to non-residents.

Ripped off again in perfect Elba style! A very small display area half of which is actually filled with stuffed animals, yeah you read right, an acquarium that display stuffed animals! The place is tiny and take you 5 minutes to visit top including one toilet pitstop. You'll see less species than you would see on a snorkelling session. Half of the big fishes were asleep and the giant tortoise just showed her buttock. The 7 euro worst spent in Elba, since there were 3 of us, the 21 euro worst spent ... and since you can't go without buying one or two useless gadget for your child let's make it 30 euro. To add more frustration the place like anything else at Elba was hard to find as there was no sign nor indication before the last 300 mt.

A lot of tanks and differents fish in this acquario, my daughter was happy and moreover it's a center for injuries turtles ;-).
Not the best acquario in the world, but enough big and interesting if you go with your family ;-)

This place could be a little bit bigger for the price. No description of the exhibition in English. Not so easy to access on foot, track leads trough the road frequently used by cars and there is no sidewalk. Anyway, still worth a visit, great place for kids but we enjoyed it as well!

A must for rainy days, this little but well equiped aquarium is also worth while on any other day. It gives a good overview on the life in the waters around Elba.

Surprisingly complete fish and birds/mammals exposition. Under the Marina 2 hotel you can get from small sharks to stingers to turtles and many others including...terrestial wildlife. The tanks and glasses are generally well clean and information widely available. Well done (there is one tank in fact that needs to be fixed as there is a water leakage). Enjoy.

Elba is a country I never expected to visit, which was totally by accident. Our ship could not port on the Italian coast, so we ported here. I was pleasantly surprised ... a small, coastal village used as Napolean's exile after his forced 1814 abdication from France. Not much to see and do, but a pleasant break from the crowds.

Ci siamo accontentati di vedere quelle poste all'esterno nelle piccole vasche, belle arzille e vivaci.
