We paid €7 each to see very little just basically a maze with a few items to look at. Kids would enjoy it for free. We were on the understanding it was an exhibition of artists. All there was to see was a few wood animals.. I came away so disappointed as we made a special trip to see it. This should be free entrry & how can you charge a fee to experience very little.

There are some really unexpected gems in this castle/museum. On the ground floor are some amazing "cribs" which is a loose translation of these models which represent bible stories. Housed in the former Bishop's Palace, you begin with a large collection of miniatures showing biblical scenes with many Nativity scenes. The medieval works of art were great. This was followed by several rooms of just average paintings. The Apartments were also very good although no English captions were available. In fact, there was no English guidebook available.

This review does refer to the light spectacle Soliman'S Dream which is taking place during Christmas Holiday season only. It is a laser show where different spectacular images are projected onto the inner facade, accompanied by the music. It is placed around elephant Soliman that visited Brixen in early 16-th century- on his way to Vienna. It is a must see if you happen to be in town. Lasts util January 6th.. Supposedly will take place around Christmas time in 2016 and 2017.It is clever to buy tickets in advance since there are long queues in front of the ticket booth.
