We started from Sommavilla di Brenzone and walked through the villages of Lake Garda. It is an easy 13 km circular itinerary, starting from Sommavilla to get to Castelletto di Brenzone. From there you continue along the lakeside in a northerly direction and arrive at Assenza where you turn right returning to Sommavilla. What makes this trip special is that you visit the lesser-known but very picturesque villages of the lake, Zignano, Castello, Venzo, Boccino, CÃ Romana, Campo, Fasor, Biaza, Castelletto, Marniga, Magugnano, Porto, Assenza. Campo is the best known, ancient and characteristic, almost uninhabited and I think that during the Christmas period they set up a nativity scene. Here we stopped for a picnic. Along the route you walk on mule tracks and paths surrounded by greenery with a fantastic view of Lake Garda.

It was a very long hike to the top , but the view was amazing. The history of the village is so interesting. We spend many hours wandering and reading about the historical history.

I didn't know it could only be reached on foot and so in the morning let's say I prepared myself casually but not suited to the place. You can get there from several points/villages and you can find all the necessary information on the internet.
From where we started we pass between beautiful and silent olive trees with beautiful views.
All this little town is very beautiful to visit during the Christmas period when all the corners and uninhabited houses are filled with nativity scenes. It's nice to walk in silence, even with children and play and find every little nativity scene..
